Wow, if Mumu and Oser can save a life, and supposedly they run only on instinct…why can’t we humans do the same, when we have the capacity to make decisions by weighing up pros and cons, and right and wrong?
Oh wow Rinpoche,
Mumu and Oser so clever, sweet and kind! And they know just exactly who to bring it to… May little birdy grow healthy and well!
Mumu and Oser put a lot of people (including me!!) to shame! May this be a reminder for all of us, that all sentient beings are equal and we should love and care for them, regardless of their forms and species..
Mumu and Oser are two amazing dogs! They have a mind to save the liitle bird and knows that it is in a distress situation. My prayers to little bird on speedy recovery, and may you fly again to your freedom.
My Mumu and Oser are very special. They fought all instincts to eat, play or hide the bird. I am so proud of them. I gave them each a healthy snack as a reward. I love them so much. We will take care of the bird and KB will update re the progress of the little bird. We want it to live, if it cannot, at least to die in comfort and without fear and pain. Just now, it was able to drink water. It’s little eyes are still closed. How wonderful to nurture this being and blow mantras on it daily. I feel for it so much.. Tsem Rinpoche
It is amazing how these dogs have very kind heart and wanted to save the bird. The fact that they brought the bird to Rinpoche and kept staring at it intensely means they are trying to draw Rinpoche’s attention to the bird (as they can’t talk? hehe) and hope it will be safe and saved.
Shame that many (humans) out there do not treasure lives and we slaughter, butcher, kill, torture and eat animals because we are selfish!
Rinpoche
It is such a nice story. I am amazed that Mumu and Oser have such compassion. When I just got my dog, Gizmo Om Mani Peme Hung, he has the tendencies to kill ants and little insects. I tried to stop him from doing that whenever I catch him. I put him on a vegetarian diet, and recently, at least to my knowledge, I did not see Gizmo chasing ants or some other poor insects anymore. I wish he will grow to be compassionate like Mumu and Oser.
Much love
Valentina
What an amazing duo! Kudos to our heroes Mumu and his lady partner Oser! They have brought light to so many by their presence and now have saved a life too. I have just shown Jutika and Pavara this blog and they are intrigued by it.
Hehe… Cute! Maybe they used to see how Rinpoche treat all the animals. As they are sensitive and clever, they will follow what we are doing. Glad to see they brought the bird to Rinpoche for blessing and rescue this baby bird. Animals is not stupid or lower beings, if we treat and train them well, they can be a good beings too.
mumu and oser are definitely 2 amazing beings. they can be role model to alot of people, which shows even pet having caring instinct to other sentient being. it shows that mumu and oser is definitely the ambassador of peace and love to the world,i personally think mumu and oser and the little birdie could be a motivation or probably a symbol of compassion and peace to Kechara, especially for KWPC? that is my humble opinion, because i think this story could touch millions of soul, and spread world peace, and compassion of one to all sentient being.
Thank you for sharing Rinpoche – what a wonderful story! Such gentle cute little mumus they both are. It’s very interesting to see as they’re both usually very active, very playful and tumble around each other a lot, very physical. And yet they know when to be gentle and soft and are so sensitive to other beings. I remember hearing that mumu was very gentle towards Oser when she first came and was much, much tinier than him.
Interesting that animals are so much more alert and sensitive to other beings than humans often are… There are so many stories like this of the care that animals spontaneously demonstrate. We have much to learn from them.
Wow! Cute Mumu and sweet Oser is so wonderful and compassion….There can treat the baby bird so well and brough the baby bird to Rinpoche…….But some human beings still can not do this? Much prayer may the little bird grow and strong:-)))
Animals can help us to be better human beings. As Rinpoche has said, “What makes us great human beings is not how much we can hurt others, but how much we can help others. What makes us good humans, is not how we abuse animals, but how much we allow them to live and be happy freely. Heal yourself by healing others.” That is exactly what mumu and oser might have learnt from Rinpoche and are now putting it into practice through its action. As Rinpoche taught, “Everyone including ourselves need kindness – find a cause, that benefits others and go all the way. It be hard work, but do not stop, go all the way – just manifest it!” Thank you mumu and oser for showing us the way, and may your compassionate virtuous action helps you both to karmically achieve a good human rebirth in your next life.
ahh…reading this made my day! thank you Rinpoche for sharing this. I’m so proud of mumu and oser in all sense of the word!
Mimi and Oser, I am truly humbled by your action of compassion and wisdom. I am still far down the spiritual ladder and lacks merits to be physically near my Guru Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. But I will persist and every day, I will learn and practice the dharma and certainly one day, I will collect enough merits to be near Rinpoche, and to see you again Mumu and to meet you Oser <3 <3
I am happy to report that the little sparrow rescued by Mumu and Oser are doing well. KB has been patiently feeding it with a little syringe… warmed it up gently with a warm tungsten lamp above the card box home for a little while to get the feathers dry.
It is now on its feet and has its eyes open. Very cute! I am sure it is chirping “mummy” to KB at the moment… hehehe
Much love from the Haven of miracles!
There will be more updates via KB’s facebook which he will be sharing with Rinpoche and everyone. If you are not his friend, best ‘befriend’ him now for more updates!!!!
wow. my mind is blown away yet again.
In the texts, it is said that only benefit can occur from just being close to the Guru. Seems that Rinpoche’s compassion has influenced the mindstreams of Mumu and Ozer! It’s exactly like what the texts say! i can only imagine the immense benefit and transformation on people close to Rinpoche..
LITTLE BIRD IS CUTE. SHE IS SLEPPING NOW. AMAZING HOW MUNU AND OSER BROUGHT BABAY BIRD INTO RINPOCHE’S BED WITHOUT HARMING. MUMU IS NATURALY VERY GENTEL AND VERY SOFT.TODAY WE GONA SAFE LITTLE BIRDS LIFE. I AM TAKING CARE BABY BIRD AND UPDATE EVERYBODY ABOUT HER HEALTH.I WISH SHE GETS HEALTHY AND GROW.
TODAY 6/5/2011
TIME- 5PM I FED HER SOME CAT FOOD. SHE IS VERY LITTLE CAN NOT EAT BIRD FOOD NOW SO I NEED TO FEED HER EVERY HOUR A LITTLE AND CHANT MADICINE BUDDHA MANTRA ON HER. BABY GANA GROW VERY FAST.
Mumu and Oser must have learned from Rinpoche’s example of love and care for all beings around him. That’s why following a qualified Spiritual Guide will definitely sow virtuous seeds in the students’ mind streams.
Wow, Mumu and Oser have much compassion and we as humans must follow how they practice awareness and compassion. They were aware of where the baby bird was and did not harm or killed the baby bird but with gentle care brought it to Rinpoche. Their instinct tell them that Rinpoche can save the baby bird. They are so smart!
May the baby bird with Rinpoche’s blessings grow big and strong.
O, how absolutely sweet and wonderful!!
Clever Mumu and Oser, you are so adorable! Mumu and Oser have been brought up by Rinpoche. Surely they have the same instinct as their owner – caring, compassionate and loving.
I like to hear stories on lives are being saved. And in this case, it is even more pleasing as the heros are Mumu and Oser. Mumu and Oser have definitely been observing what Rinpoche has been doing all this while, saving lives and taking care of animals in the ladrang. Very clever indeed. Glad to hear the little bird is drinking and eating well under the care of KB, Rinpoche’s attendant. Thank you KB for always taking care of those who can’t even express their gratitude.
Sorry to inform everyone little bird passed away today. She was fine at night but in morning she was gone. Thanks to mumu and oser who brought her to Rinpoche. Rinpoche did prayer and blassed her. I have cut her nail to put into the buddha statue for her good rebirth.
oh no, this is so sad. may the little bird have a good rebirth. but it is a blessing to the little bird, because if not for the hero and heroine-Mumu and Oser, the little guy would have been in different situation, but it was save by no other than Mumu and Oser and taken to Rinpoche caring. Hope the little bird next rebirth will be able to help more sentient beings. OM MANI PADME HUNG. TAYATHA OM BEKANZE BEKANZE MAHA BEKANZE BEKANZE RANDZA SAMUGATHE SOHA.
Dearest Rinpoche
Thank for the wonderful story that put many humans to shame. As many would not be bothered and just think that this creatures are to insignificant and would let them die. Some parents would even reprimand their chiildren if they would brought it home. These doggies are really way above humans. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this touching story, Rinpoche. Just one word to the mumus: AMAZING!
Thanks for sharing dear Rinpoche. 2 little Mumus are real heroes, as most of the doggies will just tear the baby bird apart but they have rescued the baby bird. Its touching!! As i had seen 2 labradors teared a little chick apart and really heart broken.
Proud of Mumu And Oser, and may the baby bird has a good rebirth.
Mumu and Oser definitely put alot of us to shame, look at how compassionate they are towards the little bird and brought to Rinpoche, and they know who to look for.
Dear Rinpoche!
Thats a very wonderful story!
It concerns me. Your compassion inspired your environment!
Thanks for sharing.
Susann
what happened to the bird now?
