Amazing Lion Shows Gratitude!
THIS WOMAN IN THE VIDEO FOUND THIS LION INJURED IN THE FOREST READY TO DIE.
SHE TOOK THE LION WITH HER AND NURSED THE LION BACK TO HEALTH. WHEN THE
LION WAS BETTER SHE MADE ARRANGEMENTS WITH A ZOO TO TAKE THE LION AND GIVE IT A NEW AND HAPPY HOME.
THIS VIDEO WAS TAKEN WHEN THE WOMAN AFTER SOME TIME WENT TO GO VISIT THE LION TO SEE HOW HE WAS DOING.
WATCH THE LION’S REACTION WHEN HE SEES HER. AMAZING!!!!!
I REALLY LOVE ANIMALS. SOMETIMES THEY TEACH US THE MEANING OF SIMPLE GIFTS IN LIFE SUCH AS ALWAYS HAVING GRATITUDE FOR THOSE
THAT HAVE HELPED US.
WHAT AN INSPIRING VIDEO. BEAUTIFUL.
PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH FRIENDS AND CHILDREN. INSPIRE CHILDREN TO BE KIND TO ANIMALS.

Thanks for the sharing. I had read the article before and had felt thta wild beings too had the capability to experience and show immense gratitude. Its a heart warming video, and hope more cold blood human able to realize a thing or two after watching the video.
All animals can sense when there is danger or kindness in the air. Most people will be afraid to go near wild animals especially when they are injured, they will be more aggressive. Like this lion that was injured and this woman who saved his life when she found him in the jungle and waiting to die. The woman’s motivation was because of great compassion of the woman in not letting the lion die in the jungle. She took the risk by taking the lion and nursing him back to health. Then she brought the healthy lion to the zoo for safe keeping. As for the lion he remembers who has saved his life and since animals cannot speak the lion show his gratitude by his action for the woman when she visited the lion in the zoo.
Such a fantastic example of selfless compassion. Sadly, there seems to be wrong views about animals’ capacity to remember people and express love/gratitude – it really is a shame stories like this aren’t given more exposure, because they remind us that not only is giving a reward in itself in regards to benefiting other beings, but in giving selflessly, we also receive so much back in return and so it always makes sense for us to give whenever we can in ways that are sure to benefit both ourselves and others – everyone’s a winner!
I would like to offer a similar video for people to watch and enjoy. I’ve shared this so many times before and although I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it, it never fails to drive home the importance of love and compassion.

Yeah my dad sent me this video a few days earlier. I had a good cry… Really amazing stuff.
How wonderful to be reminded yet again that animals can be more human and grateful than some humans beings are. As I watched this video I think of how cruel and beastly mankind can be as witnessed in “Earthling” and similar videos.
It seems the capacity to behave like any being within all realms are within us and perhaps what really separates us from animals is that we can choose how we think and behave.
Anyone who has ever loved an animal will most definitely know how warm and genuine the love of this other sentient being we call ‘animal’, is. They are definitely not just food or sport or entertainment.
i often wonder why human beings are so ungrateful (to their teachers, parents, relatives, friends, animals and Mother Nature etc.). i guess, despite our worldly intelligence, we must practise Dharma even more seriously! Thank you Rinpochela, for the wonderful sharing – a precious reminder to ungrateful me.
Guru: Thanks for sharing. Am Will do prayer for the animal sanctuary.
Thank you Rinpoche for this lovely video – i can really feel the gratitude and love from the lion… this is a great reminder that animals are SENTIENT beings so we must stop harming them by hunting, eating, or even putting them in zoos.
Even the king of the jungle could show such sincere and genuine gratitude towards her saviour, how about us, human beings? A heartfelt example which remind us about remembering the kindness of others…cheers to the lion, king of the beast
I saw a similar video but it the lion was released back into the wild after it recovers. A couple of years later, the 2men that saved the lion went to check on the lion. You should see how the lion ran to the guys when he noticed them. It’s really nice to be able to watch this video after a lo
I end here with a prayer for them : Tayata Om Bekanze Bekanze Maha BeKanze Radza Samudgate Soha.
ng day.
It’s now 01:57am and I just got back from doing volunteering work. Although I’m kinda tired and especially my eyes, I still wanna read rinpoche’s blog. I some how find some messages being carried across and I will sleep better. I just wanna say that I feel like hugging the Lion. It touched my heart and I just hope people will stop killing animals, abusing them and hurting them
Thank you for sharing the video of the lion kissing its owner. I think that the video above shows how animals can be more caring than humans can be. I thought that it was so cute when the lion kissed the lady. I wish I could be hugging that lion now. I remembered that this lion was once featured on Ripley’s Believe it or Not. I really wish that humankind would be more grateful to be in the human realm and also because unlike other realms in samsara can learn the Dharma. We should not act like an animal as we can do better than an animal. We should have a better attitude compared to them as we are human but in touching stories like these we should take them as an example.
Dear brother Rinpoche, The power of spiritualism can bind people from all corners of the world irrespective of cast and colour.Great to read about you and Thanx for lovely video.
