Aunt Matza teaches Bortsik & Perisiki
Watch the video…
I haven’t seen my lovely Aunt Matza in nearly 30 years. I had the pleasure of her company recently where she flew in to join in our official Kechara Gompa opening. She stayed in the Ladrang and got along really well with all of our Ladrang ppl. She has returned to the US and last night Su Ming called Sara. Sara said her mother Aunt Matza missed the Ladrang people… nice. I and all of us miss Aunt Matza also. I love this lady. She is no nonsense and easy going. When I was a kid I use to think she is really cool and she still is.
A lot of people in the Ladrang told me that they miss Aunt Matza very much and it was a pleasure to serve her while she was our guest. After Aunt Matza left, the Ladrang staff said that the ladrang felt empty for a while. I agree.
Well here is a video of Aunt Matza teaching our Ladrang people how to cook some Mongolian-Kalmuk dishes that I liked and haven’t had for 30 years… hehe
Much thanks Aunt Matza… it was great seeing you. I love you and appreciate you making such an effort to be here at our Gompa opening… Tsem Rinpoche your nephew always…
Aunt Matza teaching Yenni of Boathouse Restaurant (who is a fabulous cook herself and in the black cap) showing ladrang ppl the secret…

Two lovely ladies…my Aunt Matza on the left and our Kechara President, Datuk May Phng….enjoying a light moment together outside the ladrang with some ‘incense’…hehehe

I totally agree with everyone in Ladrang that Aunt Matza is a very nice and cheerful lady. Although I see her only for a while every morning when I come into Ladrang to Blog. I seem to think I have known her for a very long time. She is alway smiling and very bubbly. If you are depressed and one look at her cheerful face will make your blues disappear. Yen Ni and her partner Adelyn Lim who owns the Boathouse Restaurant and Yen Ni who is also the owner and chef are lucky to learn two new Mongolian dishes Bortstik and Perisiki to add to their Restaurant menu. I sure miss my 5 minutes chat in Ladrang with Aunt Matza when she has her breakfast.
