Bill Cli nton had a *stent put in during a bypass where his arteries were clogged with cholesterol. It was dangerous.
He was one of the lucky ones who can be saved by having a stent put in.
So he went on totally plant based diet to save his own life and he lost 25 pounds and it worked. Watch this informative video.

Dear Rinpoche, thank you for posting this. Bill Clinton lost weight for Chelsea’s wedding, upon her insistence is common knowledge. But the fact that he did research and participated in the program is a lesson to us all. Do what you need to do without further delays if you have found the answers. I will forward this posting to my friends esp for one friend who recently had 2 stents done. All of us have consciously included more vegetables and fruits selections in our meals but we need to do more.
Bill Clinton was saved by being a vegetarian when he took on the experiment of going on plant based diet. He had a bypass when Doc found he had high cholestral and heart problem. Even after the bypass a stent has to be inserted. The experiment worked. He lost 24lbs and now he is a vegetarian. I have a similar experience with the same type of condition many years ago. I had very high cholestral. Doc told me I had my 3 main arteries blocked. And had to put stents to blow up the arteries. Before the operation with the stents.I need another angiogram done. The Doc was baffled with the results which turned out that my arteries was clear and no blockage. I had consulted my Tsem Rinpoched when I found out about my arteries was blocked. I had trusted Rinpoche. Rinpoche did lots of prayers and pujas which I had trusted will work. My point is I cannot explain how this happen. But I believe and trusted Rinpoche. In this case trust and prayers work. I am also now full vegetarian.
Wow! Vegan diet seems to do wonders for Mr Bill Clinton and he owes his life turnaround because of this diet. I am amazed by his results and I have been vegetarian for around a year plus and I have actually gained weight. Perhaps it is all the dairy in my diet as I love cereal with milk, ice -creams and other sweat desserts. My weight borders on being overweight for my height and so I am thinking of starting on a Herbalife diet. It is mainly soy, fortified with various vitamins and minerals and what I really like is that I loose weight and apparently improves energy levels and overall health as well and it is Vegan…so I am thinking about it….

The other thing is… if I only could be honest to my parents.
Wow! I think that is extremely amazing. Even someone like Bill Clinton can sacrifice his urge to eat meat! He is an extremely good example, I really wish to be like him. Even though it is just to save his own skin at first then it became a habit for him to be vegan.
It has been proven time and time again that animals’ fat give rise to cholesterol built up in our arteries. With the life style of an average person of this 21st century where exercise is very much lacking, heart diseases are common among many of us. In this perpective alone, it is already a good enough reason to either cut down on meat consumption or go completely vegan.
On a spiritual level, if one can think deeper on the suffering the animals endure before their death, and particularly if we are buddhists, we should all the more go 100% vegetarian or be a vegan. How can we chant holy mantras from our mouth when we put dead corpses in our mouth?
Plant based diet has proven time and time again it is much healthier. As mentioned in other comments the meat that we eat are killed most of the time violently, the animals emotions, fear, anxiety, pain, anger all goes into the meat. How can meat be a healthy option ?
