This is not an easy video to watch, but very necessary. Everyone should stop eating meat. If you cannot stand to watch animals being slaughtered, then how can you eat meat? Meat was a conscious being before it ended up on your plate. When you eat it and enjoy it, then you have to ignore the brutal facts of it’s slaughter. The more animals we hurt, the more karma we create for ourselves to be treated in the same way. All actions have consequences.
This old, outdated, peasant farmer’s thinking that if you don’t eat meat, your diet will not be complete and you will be unhealthy is wrong. It is just an excuse people still use to indulge in eating slaughtered flesh.
Never be in denial. Make a stand for important things in your life like saving animals and creating awareness for them.
Don’t hurt animals, don’t slaughter animals, and don’t eat animals. Be kind to them, feed them and let them have full lives also. Share this video with as many people as you can. Save animals I beg you please.

It never fails to shock me how cruel people can be. I just don’t get it. WHY?
1) It is so un-necessary
2) How is it really going to make a person any better by doing this or even eating it?
3) How does one sleep at night knowing you have just slaughtered so many lives and it is not because you absolutely have to?
Who created this whole idea that eating dog meat is a good thing?
I shudder to think that there is actually a whole industry that supports this and that is why it continues to exist.
A chill runs down my spine for both seeing such explicit cruelty and for the deep sadness I feel – for both the victims and the killers. The killers will receive their due karma and that will not be pretty at all.
When will the madness stop?
I dearly love animals. In the case of this film I wouldn’t even visualize Lady Vadjra Yoghini… because I didn’t want to bring her in such an awful situation. It really doesn’t matter if it’s a dog, a cow, a duck or a fish. They all want to be happy like us. I don’t know what to say. It is difficult to believe that this world is NOT a bad place. The free will would be a good thing if people would instantly see the consequences of their doing. But seeing this I could get an idea that at least the so-called God doesn’t existor that at least people don’t make a change for a dog by just going to church every sunday while forgetting about the story of Franz von Assisi…
Please promote this video and show to as many as you can. May I humbly ask you to stop eating meat. There’s so many other things we can eat. Much appreciation, Tsem Tulku
May animals cruelty be stop right now due to the power of the merits created by me, all the buddhas, bodhisattvas and all mother sentient beings.
May all the holy wishes be fulfill without a second of delay.
And May all beings be happy right now.
Throughout the video, everytime I heard the dog howl, watched the harsh strikes that was delivered to its head, watched its throat sliced open and left to bleed, my heart ached. By the end of the video, it felt as if my heart and the base of my throat was being stabbed because I felt the immense pain and suffering for the dogs and I could not fathom how people can bring themselves to carry out such an appalling act. How does consumption of another living animal for the pure reason to satisfying our needs (eating/health reasons) jusify the pain that these animals go through. What if we were one of the dogs in the cage, helplessly watching our friends/family confronting a cruel end to their life, silently watching knowing that we were going to end up in the same fate before our eyes. How would we feel then?
Such is the kind of world we live in, the cycle of existence, where the cause of all suffering has been derivied through one’s actions, thoughts and pleasures. It is embarrassing and disgraceful to know that we are part of this society, where the words “I” and “me” overrules our mind and that so little people are doing something to stop it. Therefore, instead of avoiding, we have to create awareness with hopes to reduce such acts. Afterall, as Rinpoche teaches, if everyone starts doing something, it will create the causes for people to get involved. If not now, then when?
Among the Chinese people not everyone eat dog meat. From what I know this applies only to certain dialects in Malaysia. I also undertstand dog meats are very popular in China and Hongkong and is considered a delicacy. Black dogs meat are also considered very good as a healing product. And black dog male organs are also used as a protection to ward off evil for the more superstitious chinese folks in China. In the video I see the killing of dogs are more cruel than killing pigs. I can’t imagine a dog who is known for their loyalty to humans can be so cruelly tortured, killed and eaten. In Malaysia the Chinese eat their delicasies in the form of bats and wild animals from the jungle. From the video I saw how cruel the dogs were killed has convinced me and I will tell others not to eat meat anymore.
It is a painful truth that most people tend to ignore in our society on where and how the meat came about on our dinner plates. Most of the younger generation do not even know where about their poultry, pork, beef & veal came from and how they are commercially raised and slaughtered then pre-packed nicely and then transported to the supermarkets. Its heart wrenching to actually watch how they get slaughtered to satisfy our eating desire. The suffering endured by the animals ends up pleasuring the human’s taste buds. This video will help create a lot of awareness and will definitely encourage more people to become vegetarian and if not, then eat less meat. It will definitely help us contemplate before we decide what to order for our dinner.
We can indeed train ourselves to eat less meat and then eventually go for vegetarian.
I will definitely encourage my brothers & friends to watch this video.
In the village where I grew up, some people ate dog meat. There was a man who was well-known for his killing of dogs for their meat. When he passed by, the dogs would bark at him, Somehow, they knew. Some people eat exotic food out of curiosity, but many do so because of supertitious beliefs, for example, that dog meat keeps you warm in winter, tortoise meat cooked with Chinese medicine is good for general health and a type of fish boiled with a certain herb can heal wounds faster etc. Education, especially religious education, is necessary to prevent this type of cruelty. It is true that when one has developed loving-kindness and compassion, there will be less attraction towards foods involving the slaughter of animals. We must bear in mind the moderate attitude towards food taught by the Buddha: “Reflecting carefully I use this food, not for pleasure, not for indulgence, not for personal charm, not for beautification, but only for maintaining this body so that it endures, for keeping it unharmed, for supporting the Holy Life; so that former feelings of hunger are destroyed and new feelings from overeating do not arise; then there will be for me a lack of bodily obstacles and living comfortably.” (“Living comfortably” can mean: (1) comfortable abiding of one’s body and (2) abiding well in one’s meditation.)
Dearest Rinpoche,
Thank You again for sharing with me n my kids this video.
No doubt, I don’t quite like to eat meat since young aged, and also I’m not an animal lover. In this video, I realized it really hurts me deeply, when I saw the processed of the dogs have been killed. Their eyes expression is so miserable and waiting to be killed. It’s very sad and hurting…
Henry and I have prepared my kids go full vegetarian by end of this year. We’ve started cutting down eat less meats at home. I pray, may this video will encourage those meat lovers to stop taking lives and killing for their own pleasure. I have also told some of my friend last night please eat less meat, and read Rinpoche blog for animal liberation. For those readers please help to pass this message to your love ones and friends. Thank you…
Love, angel
The next time we put meat into our mouth whether is dog, rabbit, pork, beef etc we should think how much pain, sufferings and fear these animals have to endure for us to satisfy our appetites and taste buds.
The recent videos that Rinpoche posted on animals abuse had greatly created a big impact in me and to make me want to change my diet all the more. I will promote this video and create awareness to others.
Animals, in accordance with Buddhist teachings, are sentient beings, and have the right to live on this planet just like any other human too! No one has any right to take that away without any justification, especially just like those doggies shown hanging in the blog picture. Murdering, slaughtering, killing, drowning and abusing them so cruelly is definetly babaric which no sane humans should do. Just imagine the agonising pains and sufferings these animals have to go through to die just to please and satisfy the craving desires of these meat-eating human beings. Killing in such manner of animals for meat should ethically be condemned in accordance with the law of animal cruelty and moral human conduct. Fortunately, we have compassionate animals lovers who have taken the troubles, and pains with personal sacrifices to establish animal sanctuaries/refuge. Through these santuaries, thousands of animals have been saved from the senseless cruelties of these animal factory farms, stockyards and slaughter houses of big countries the World over. On an off, television and radio news shows as well as hundreds of newspapers with “well-known” worldwide top celebrities being featured in as guests appearances by popular prime-time television stations in support of their commitments to the cause of protecting the animals and strenghten their effort to get animal welfare recognised internationally!
PLEASE MAKE SPECIAL EFFORTS TO SUPPORT THESE GOOD-HEARTED “ANIMALS AMBASSADORS” IN THEIR PROFFESSIONAL VENTURES – IT WILL DEFINETLY HELP THE POOR HELPLESS ANIMALS IN THE END! THANK YOU.
I am soryy that youtube banned this video, maybe google video will work.
I posted this on youtube & embedded it on my blog to create awareness. Youtube banned the video with a COMMUNITY GUIDELINES WARNING saying it is too graphic and shocking and breaks their rules. If I get three warnings they block all my videos. I appealed saying, I didn’t post to shock or be gory BUT TO CREATE AWARENESS……. THEY REJECTED THE APPEAL.
I couldn’t believe how they do not want to help such a good cause and help create awareness of this horrible dog meat trade. I appeal to everyone to please have this video tweeted and facebooked everywhere to create awareness. I was very sad to see what is happening to the dogs and VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH YOUTUBE. Please help the dogs I beg you.

Today after seeing this youtube clip, I was shocked to, reading some comments, the shock became bigger
I asked myself the question what is really on that plate?
It’s about awareness, youtube serves the plate back.
So what is it,we need to become aware of? We can put anything on that plate, any violent act against our own nature
What is been served back for me, awareness?
Reading a comment about, children don’t need to see this on youtube! another shock coming up……….
This is my awareness shock on a plate!
When I was 5 years old, army trucks drove through my village
I ran to my mom, warning her, war was coming up, they were already in the village! My mom said, they were only driving there for practice reasons I asked what happens in war?
She answered, people get killed
I could not believe in my innocent child mind and heart,
that other people, killed other people, just like that, with big machinery I asked, who wants this? My mother said nobody!
How can there be a war when nobody wants it?
Just a couple of big men decided to go to war. I asked, how many?
She said 20 maybe 100 decided its war! I asked and all those other people don’t want this? She said no! I asked with how many are they?
Millions she said, millions of good people who don’t want war!
I asked how many are killed, lots of them, she said, lots of them
How can that be? For me it was clear, with millions of good people, they would stand up and say all together, no thank you!
And send those 20 or 100 away, impossible that they could do any harm at all! What did those million of good people do? She said, you can’t do anything, afraid to get killed. its war!
So 20 people can make millions afraid and don’t act anymore?
That was the biggest shock EVER Not the big 20 or 100 bad man, not the war, killing people and killing machinery
That millions of people let that much violent and killing happen?
As if was knocked down with stupidity, and suddenly I felt a big fear toward human beings!
As if I didn’t belong here on earth!
I start praying to God and my grandfather who past away,
why did they leave me between millions of those?
What was going on here?
Really afraid of those millions and millions of good loving people, who didn’t believe in there power!
Big child question, with how many are we?
Imagine those many sign up together?
Stop any violent act against our own nature
So many loving beings united together on this earth,
are we aware of this? Put that on a plate and serve the world
Absolutely cruel! A shocking revelation! Speechless beyond words! Gobsmacked!…………enlightening that I will look at meat on my table in different light.
Many many Indian people in India are vegetarians. i know many of them and many of them grew up healthy and strong and even taller, bigger and stronger than I am. And I ate meat from young. But meeting people who were vegetarians since birth gave me an insight that going vegetarian is a life choice!
So no reason as to why its healthier to consume meat.
