Please Respect Animals
Animals must be respected by us. All Buddhists or ppl with a conscience should abandon eating of meat.
Animals have many complex feelings and fears just like us. They deserve to be happy and left in peace.
I love animals so much.
Believing in the infallible doctrine of karma will be a big boost to stop the harming of animals.
Tsem Tulku

Thank you Rinpoche. I only wish we had you here in the US so we can attend your amazing teachings, but at least I can watch them. Lama Zopa Rinpoche is my Root Guru, I know you know him. An amazing Holy Being who spends countless hours liberating animals physically and spiritually.
May you always remain until samsara ends, please always remain…

AHHHHHHH dolphins! I love love love love dolphins! When I was younger, I wanted so badly to be a marine biologist because I really wanted to study cetaceans (the group of animals that dolphins belong to). It wasn’t because I thought they were cute or whatever. It was because even when I was young, I recognise that they had their own feelings and fears (just as Rinpoche has said above). I saw how they loved one another, how they fought, how they cared for each other, how they played together…exactly like humans. If a young child can see all of that, how is it that adults are so blinded by their selfish attachments and they can’t?
How can we consciously destroy the social links that exist amongst animals, because we actually want to or we’re too lazy to stop ourselves from doing anything about it? In this way, we can see how laziness as an attitude is very destructive. Surely as humans with the mental capacity to make decisions that either benefit or harm, it is always preferable to make decisions that benefit. Being too lazy to want to make others happy, because it’s easier to make yourself happy and make them sad, is sooooo selfish.
like seriously, never, ever eat tuna again, uggggggh
or any animal for that matter.
It is SO not cool to have a dead body rotting away in your stomach
I was a big meat eater for like 55 years. There were many vegetarians who tried to convert me. It did not work because they made it like its the path to enlightenment and a religion by itself, condemning those who don’t become one.
It took a few gentle exhortations from Rinpoche to convince me its time to stop eating meat.
He asked how many chickens I have eaten in my life, like around 1,000? Wasn’t that enough? And just to satisfy my palate without caring for how I created more suffering n killing in the process. And as a dharma teacher how can i teach compassion for animals when I am eating them !
I was awakened alright and has since stopped eating all meat since a year ago and feel much better for it.If I can do it all of you can, for the sake of helping all suffering animals it is worth it.
Vegetarianism is one of the best way to express our prayers of compassion for all sentient beings. We always pray for all sentient beings but one hand, we are eating sentient beings, digesting them and defecating their remains with no mindfulness of it at all. We say we don’t kill but why do we support butchers that slaughters these helpless farm animals. We talk about karma and how we try to avoid negative karma, how come we don’t avoid creating more karma by eating sentient beings and promoting their killing.
Killing on a massive scale is done every single day to feed the masses in the cities and many who claim to love animals but don’t really care anymore when it comes to dinner time and everyone’s hungry. We live in a time where we can make a difference by making a conscious choice to eat vegetarian as there so many choices these days so we are not missing out on anything at all. In fact, it makes eating meat a very sad excuse to increase our attachment and negative karma.
On the other hand, for those who are addicted to meat, may one to go on a gradual vegetarian diet and not go cold turkey as that would be easier on the system and work oneself towards being fully vegetarian like millions of people already are out there.
The most recent animal liberation project was to release 100kg of catfish at Metropolitan Park by Kechara Animal Santuary. These fishes were released into the reserve pond to total freedom. These fishes are saved from kitchen knives as KAS buys them directly from the fish market.
Just like what H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche said, animals have feelings too! They deserve to be happy and left in peace.
This is the perfect opportunity for the parents to educate our children, instill knowledge and feelings of love and care for the animals. Good education will be most effective if the children witness the parents being consistent in whatever they are explain and teach.
Please love and respect the animals, especially those that are near and close to you!
Animals really must be respected by everyone. I also think that people should either eat less meat or no meat at all. Animals have complex feelings that humans naturally cannot understand. They are mentally just like humans. They are somewhat better at some points as they know how to care for others properly! I like the picture of the Dolphins jumping out of the water into the sunset. It is at the perfect time and the right place! I really wish that everyone in the world will start respecting animals and treat them as if they have become part of you own family. They have their own family, how would you feel if someone comes along the road takes a mallet, whacks you father’s head until he drops to the ground. Then that man takes a knife and cut his legs apart and slowly pulls his skin off. That is what the son or daughter of the sheep or raccoon or any fur producing animals feel! We should respect and care for them. They suffer enough already!
Since young I had never like to eat meat. I remember whenever I had food with meat I will always select and put aside any meat and eat rice and noodles with vegetables only. And because I do not take meat and without taking supplements or vitamins I suffer anaemia all the time. Then I began taking supplements and was alright. I can’t figure out why I do not like to eat meat when I was young. But when I grew up and became an adult I then only know. I use to see the bullock carts around my era of time. And oxes are used to pull the carts with heavy goods laden. And the cows provide us with milk as nourishment for our children and us. Similarly we have to pay them for their kindness for not killing and eating them. And for all other animals they also can feel sufferings like us. But through their bad karma they have been reborn as animals. So we must have compassion and not kill and eat them. Even if we are not vegetarian we ease their sufferings from the slaughter house by not eating them.
