Tsunami Dog Reunited Again
Watch this short clip of an emotional and touching reunion of the Dog “Ban” with her owner.
For 3 long weeks, Ban had been drifting on a roof 1.8km out to sea along one of the worst hit areas of Japanese coastline. Fortunately, the owner recognised the dog from a TV news report.
At this point in time, many other Japanese pets are either abandoned, or stranded somewhere and left to die, and in some cases, it is just too dangerous to even attempt a rescue!
Fortunately, in this instance, the Japanese coastguard were able to rescue Ban. Watch the video and listen to Ban’s happy panting when reunited with her owner.

Though in general, there is a saying that ‘A dog has nine lives’ – but in this phenomena any practicioner in Buddhism will know that it is due to its good positive past karmic virtues which save this lucky dog’s life. Virtuous karma cannot be simply accumulated by refraining from not doing anything that seems non-virtuous. One must develop the intention to abandon all such actions, while at the same time accept our karmic retributions with equanimity and do our utmost best in whatever way we can to benefit others and to relieve them from their sufferings. It is said that positive karmic ties bring us rewards, whereas negative ones bring retributions. Therefore, one should not look at the fruition of our karmic virtuous acts only, in terms of our current lifetime. No one can escape the law of cause and effect in our future lives.
Awww, this is touching. The trouble of worrying for her dog shows the love she have for her dog. The doggy is so fortunate to survive and reunite with it’s owner.
