My Favorite!
Whenever I visit Singapore, I visit this place. I have brought many people here and they all love it!
Anandha Bhavan Restaurant is a restaurant located along Selegie Road, just within Little India in Singapore. It is arguably the oldest Vegetarian restaurant in Singapore!
It was established in 1924, and has been serving vegetarian food for the past 87 years!! It is the oldest Indian vegetarian restaurant in Singapore, and I can see why the restaurant has continuously attracted customers for so many years… the food is healthy, delicious, NOT oily and they have a wide range of vegetarian food there. It reminds me so much of the food in India! The food has no msg, coloring or preservatives whatsoever. It is my favorite place in Singapore. And the service is fast also and guess what, THEY ARE OPEN 24 HOURS!!!!
The restaurant has now expanded to 4 branches, including Changi Airport Terminal 2. Do drop by even if you’re transiting in Singapore!
On the wall of their restaurant, they have placed a write-up which I would like to share with you… it’s the logic of vegetarianism…READ BELOW…I love what they have written on their walls..

THE LOGIC OF VEGETARIANISM
“An examination of the structure of the human body leads to the conclusion that man is intended by nature to live on a vegetable diet. There is the closest affinity between the organs of the human body and those of the fruit eating animals. The monkey for instance is so similar to man in shape and structure, and it is a fruit eating animal. Its teeth and stomach are just like the teeth and stomach of man while those of carnivorous animals, as for instance, the lion and tiger, are entirely different.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Apart from religious reasons, vegeterianism in all stages of life, is healthy, nutritional and provides meaningful benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases and sickness. Vegeterian Diets offer lower levels of saturated fats and cholesterols, as what is been done at Anandha Bhavan Restuarant. Lower levels of cholesterol means lower blood pressure and less incidence of heart diseases, hypertension, diabeties, renal failures and many other disorders. One of the oldest arguments for vegeterianism is based on religious beliefs. Some religions encourage practices of vegeterianism as a part of their spiritual doctrine – which symbolishes non-violence, ehtics and non-killings. The principle of non-violence applied to animals is connected with the intention to avoid negative karmic influences throgh violence, suffering of pains and killings. Anandha Bhavan Restuarant, a veteran restuarant having served vegeterian food for the past 87 yeasrs in Spore since 1924, and today has expanded 4 more branches, certainly speaks for itself in terms of the attraction for its delicious, healthy “par-excellence food and services”. It would certainly be worth for anyone who is in Singapore, be him/her a tourist, visitor, or otherwise, to pay it a visit. HAPPY, HEARTY AND HEALTHY EATING…………!
Iwish you had had a share link on your blog. I would love to share articles of yours like this.
During one of my working up in Penang I went to
http://www.srianandabahwan.com/
The food is yummy, there are other really good vegetarian places in Penang and some of the workers or even the owners are from India itself.
Gandhi is amazing as he manage to galvanize the Indian people to rise up peacefully to gain independence from the English. His logic and observation about what Human diet should be is illuminating.
[...] Tsem Tulku Rinpoche only posted this on his blog that we wanted to share. Physiologically humans are meant to be vegetarian. It is only habituation [...]
If we believe in reincarnation, we should not eat something which we might be reincarnate to or our “mother” could be reincarnate to.
