Csaba & Melitta from Hungary
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I love the poem. It is called ‘Invictus” which was also the name of a movie about how Nelson Mendela harmonized South Africa with the help of the Captain of the Springboks, the S.A National Rugby team. Never give up!
Thank you for posting this Rinpoche. What a thoughtful gift from Csaba and Melitta.
I really enjoyed watching Invictus, that a nation’s unity and the nation’s first steps towards a new future a new South Africa. Morgan freeman is always so effortlessly playing the roles given to him. The spirit of Nelson Mandela shines through. Nelson Mandela was a great leader who chose to forgive the people who imprisoned him unfairly and to come back with so much dignity and honour is the mark of what a great great man he is.
