The Tara that Speaks
This is a sacred Tara statue in Howell, New Jersey. It is said She has spoken to people a few times in the past.
She is very holy. Just to gaze at this Tara is a blessing. Tsem Tulku

Hi Rimpoche, I´d like to know more about this statue and her stories of the past that su mention. I have a sister who lives in NJ and I’d like to tell her more about it.
Greetings from Peru!!!
Thank you very much Rinpochela. What an auspicious start to my day! “Kam-sia che-che!”
Thanks Rinpcohe for the posting. I would have been the world most blessed and happiest person if Mother Tara could just have said simple “hi” to me.
Thank you for the posting. Real Bliss. Have saved Her Holy Image onto my computer, will transfer to my phone too.
Wow – the speaking Tara! As all Tara statues are already superbly blessed, imagine one that can speak!
We often wonder about miracles and how there is an intense lack of it now. Perhaps it is not that there are lack of miracles, but we lack the merits to actually view it, experience it or even hear it.
How kind of Rinpoche to share this immensely scared Tara picture with us all. May we all truly make that connection with its blessed qualities and be inspired to practice Dharma even more. May we create the causes for us to view and experience miracles in our lifetime.
Mother Tara, please guide me and remain inseparable from me forever until enlightenment is reached. Dispel all my obstacles and enable realisation to blaze up in my mind.
This was seen at the Rashi Gempil Ling Temple in New Jersey. Looking at this statue was amazing; the grandeur, elegance, and poise portrayed by this holy Tara statue was captivating. Not only were we blessed to see this statue but we also got to see the Palden Lhamo Thangka that was at the temple. It was breathtaking knowing the story behind it. All the statues and thangkas that we have seen in all the 3 temples (Tashi Lhumpo Centre, Nitsan Temple and Rashi Gempil Ling) have been mind-blowing, and knowing that we are setting our eyes on the same items Rinpoche used to see and prostrate to gives me a feeling that I’m re-living Rinpoche’s childhood when Rinpoche used to visit these holy places. It is such an honour, an immense blessing.
Also, I got goosebumps when I saw the Vajrayogini statue at RGL!! We thought that we wouldn’t be able to find it after our first visit there because the gen-la there didn’t know about the statue but when Anila said that the statue was still there, my heart skipped a beat and seeing it, my jaw-dropped. It was so beautiful. No wonder Rinpoche was so in awe when Rinpoche peeked at it.
Tomorrow, we have more 2 more interviews. It’s going to be a good wrap-up to our stay at Howell, New Jersey!!
I believe that Tara may have spoken to a few people in Howell, New Jersey. Howell seems to be a very peaceful suburb with people who are Buddhist inclined. And Rinpoche also has started his Dharma there. I remembered Rinpoche told me when I was in Ganden. There is a 3ft Manjushri statue in the Monastery that speaks. Although I have not heard the Manjushri statue speaks but I believe. Because in the Monastery there are lots of pujas done and children school do lots of chanting. And also High lamas conducting big pujas. A lot of energy will be generated making the statue speak. To non buddhist they may not understand this unexplained situations.
Wow Mother Tara that speaks! May we have the merits to receive and witness this miracles in our lifetime!
This statue, like many stunning and sacred statues which speak or perform miracles throughout history, is spectacular. However, for me, what is even more stunning and miraculous is our Guru, who speaks to us as often as we would like – who advises us, who is kind to us, who cares for us, who chides us, who teaches us the Dharma and who is always always looking out for us as we stumble through our spiritual journey. That’s why when we take refuge, Namo Gurubey is first, above Namo Buddhaya, because it is very rare that a statue will speak to us or teach us the Dharma whereas that’s what our Guru will do for us until we reach Enlightenment.
Guru and Buddha and Yidam all the same nature… due to our delusions we break them apart… actually Tara is our Guru, Guru is Tara… only our tricky mind likes to pray to the more exalted form, mother Tara.. but her reality is the same as Guru’s reality.
