Get Involved with Vajrayogini Stupa at KFR

May 5, 2012 | Views: 1,301

I recently blogged about two special vases which will be brought up to the Kechara Forest Retreat. One of them will be buried into the entrance wall of the huge Chapel, and the other will be placed inside a large outdoor Vajrayogini stupa.

For the Vajrayogini stupa, I openly invited people to submit the hair or nails of their loved ones, both human and animal. The hair and nails will have a special puja done for them called the Ruchok, to bless them before placing them inside the stupa. It’s a great way to bless those you love so much and whom you want to benefit. The hair and nail of living loved ones can also be placed. After blessing the hairs/nails it is permissable to put into something holy like a stupa. Whenever acts of worship are done towards the stupa, everyone living and passed who have their hair/nails inside will be blessed for better rebirths and meeting spiritual paths.

Since I posted up that blog post inviting others to submit their hair and nails, a lot of people have been sending emails to the Private Office asking how to submit it.

Below I had Jamie prepare an explanation on the Vajrayogini Stupa, how to make a contribution towards the Vajrayogini stupa and how to submit the items for Ruchok.

I’m happy to see so many people interested in being part of the Vajrayogini Stupa.

Vajrayogini Stupa, at Kechara Forest Retreat

As you might know, we are now in the process of acquiring land and building the Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR), which is based about an hour away from the city center. This is another new and exciting branch of Kechara, which will be a place for people to go to for retreats, prayers, meditation or simply to relax. There are many exciting, daily updates on the special blog post, which has been created just for updates from KFR. Read it here: Kechara Forest Retreat

On the land, we are planning to have a large Gompa, where people can go to do prayers and make offerings to the Buddha. On top of that, around the land will be many stupas which will be filled with many holy and blessed items. People can circumambulate these stupas, make offerings, prayers or even sit in front of them for meditation. The stupas will also be very important for blessing the whole area, including all the animals and birds within it.

Stupas represent the Buddha’s enlightened mind, so even seeing the image of a stupa, or making offerings towards it creates an imprint of enlightenment in our minds. This can open up more karma for us to do more and deeper spiritual practice. For animals who may not be able to practice in this life, being around such holy items blesses their minds with imprints and heals them on many levels. These imprints will open in a future life enabling them to practice and connect to the Buddhas. There is a lot of power in a stupa for any beings who even sees it.

The stupa itself is a very blessed item. But we will also be putting many, many holy and blessed items and offerings within the stupas. The first one we are planning now for the KFR is a Vajrayogini stupa, which will include trillions and billions of Vajrayogini images and texts within it. We will copy and compile many of these images and Vajrayogini-related scriptures into hard-disks, which will be put into the stupa. This represents that there are trillions and billions of Vajrayoginis within. So whenever someone makes an offering, offers a candle, does prostrations etc., it is equivalent to doing something sacred and meritorious not only to one Vajrayogini, but to as many Vajrayoginis as there are inside the stupa. The merit created is multiplied innumerably!

Tsem Rinpoche will be doing a very special blessing ritual called Ruchok. People can receive a direct blessing from this ritual by submitting their hair or nails, which are blessed during the prayers. (Read more about the power of a Ruchok ritual and how to send in your items for blessing here.) After these items are blessed, they are no longer ordinary; they become generated as Vajrayogini herself. Then, they will be put into the stupa to generate further merit and blessings for the donors and for the people who will pray or make offerings at the stupa.

We are also inviting everyone to submit any offerings or precious items which will be inserted into the stupa before consecration. These items can be photographs of loved ones, clothing, jewellery, heirlooms, Dharma texts, wealth vases, tsa tsas or other Buddha images, or anything that is precious to you. These are considered offerings to Vajrayogini and the Three Jewels, and will generate a lot of blessings and merits to the giver. For as long as the stupa exists, merit will continue to be created and dedicated to the sponsor – which will last well after we pass away, into our future lives. The offering of these items into the stupa can also be dedicated to our loved ones so merit and blessings are generated for their well-being.

Lastly, we are setting up a special Stupa Fund, so people can make donations towards actually building the Vajrayogini stupa, and all other stupas on the land. Again, this will be a very powerful offering – by your contribution, you are making it possible for so many people in the future to connect to Vajrayogini and her blessings. For as long as the stupa exists and for every person who is benefited, or makes a prayer or offering at this stupa, you receive back the merit and blessings of having contributed to its creation.

We invite everyone to be a part of building this most special first stupa on our land. You can contribute in any of the ways above, and make your own dedications to your loved ones, or towards the fulfillment of your wishes. Don’t miss this precious chance now – it is extremely rare to be able to partake in the building of something so powerfully blessed.

How to make a contribution towards the Vajrayogini Stupa

Please pack and label all your items very clearly, and submit them to the Kechara Care Office, marked to the attention of Jamie Khoo, Tsem Ladrang.

If you are living outside of Malaysia, please send your items to the address below. Please send your parcel by registered mail or courier so that it will arrive safely.

Submissions for Ruchok

There is more information about the Ruchok ritual here, including details on how to submit your items.

Please note that the hair/nails of each person/pet should be packed individually into separate bags (something like a Ziplock bag is good), and labelled clearly with the name of the person. i.e. don’t put 10 people’s items into the same bag, but pack them into 10 separate bags. Please also state if the “owner” is human or a dog/cat etc.

For further enquiries, please contact Jamie Khoo (Paris) at the Ladrang Private Office: privateoffice@tsemtulku.com

Thank you Rinpoche for you kindness, to give us such an opportunity to have ours and our loved ones hair or nail to be put in the Stupa. We are so fortunate to have our Guru here to do the ritual for us. It is extremely blessed to have our personal items put in a Stupa. For as long as the Stupa exists and for as long as there are people circumambulate the Stupa, our blessings keep accumulate. Don’t miss the chance.

You may contact anyone of us from Kechara Care.

How fortunate we are to have such great places like in Kechara Forest Retreat with all the stupas for people to get blessing not only this life but for all future life time too… to make offerings, prayers, circumambulate and meditate. More so now a Vajrayogini stupa.

I wouldn’t want to miss out this chance! Thank you Rinpoche for your continuous care, love and compassion as always.

  3. Victor Phang on May 5, 2012 at 12:51 pm

Thank you very much Rinpoche for creating another huge-merit-collection facility to us.

Kechara, KFR, KWPC, Stupa, Gompa, blog, teaching, caring, love, compassion, support, wisdom, encouragement and many many more “Dharmic Essences” are the precious gifts I had never seen in my life before I join Kechara last year.

Even though I came to Kechara just almost a year but I’m witnessing how FAST this organization growth and benefits thousands and thousands of sentient beings directly & indirectly. I really can feel the incredible hyper strong energy from Rinpoche and all the Kecharians.

To be honest, a lot of times I really face difficulty to write my comment here because I can’t find suitable words to express how grateful & fortunate I am to get connected with you and Kechara.

A “thank you” is really too small to show my gratefulness toward your great compassion for all the sentient beings especially the fortunate Malaysians. With you blessing, teaching and the endless “facilities”, I’m confident to walk thru my spiritual journey in Kechara and it is getting smoothen :)

Thank you very much Jamie for your detailed and clear explanation.

Take good care _/\_ Have An Auspicious Wesak Day :)
    With love,
    VP

We are so fortunate to have Rinpoche here with us and giving us a chance to collect such tremendous merits. I definitely wouldn’t want to miss out this auspicious opportunity.

Thank you, Rinpoche, for always thinking and taking care of us. Thank you, Jamie for the clear and detailed explanations.

    HAPPY WESAK:)

I felt touched and grateful for everything that Rinpoche has done at Kechara Retreat Forest(And i must say not only at KRF but many many more). From acquiring the piece of land and then to putting in 2 special vases and then to butter lamp house and then now Vajrayogini stupa and many many more..Reason behind is for all of us so that we can make offerings to Buddha, go there for retreat, to do prayers and many more beneficial reasons. Rinpoche, you are a wonderful guru and we are fortunate to have you.I sincerely thank you for giving us the opportunity to do more. Thank you many many times. Take care :)

    • Sam on May 5, 2012 at 4:58 pm

Not to forget to thank all Kecharians who put in all efforts to work this out. Thank you Jamie for the explantion as well.

  6. Cynthia L on May 6, 2012 at 4:54 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this with us and during Wesak Day on the benefits of having a stupa, building a stupa and also about Ruchok. The first holy stupa I saw was in Nepal, Boudhanath stupa and the energy that radiates from the stupa is amazing. From this, I can imagine having this stupa in KFR will change the energy around this land tremendously.

To me, this stupa marks the first great holy representation of what will follow in the near future. It will be so significant because this will be the first Vajrayogini stupa in the whole of Malaysia as well. Perhaps, in the future to come this will be historically recorded as the oldest stupa in Malaysia.

I would LOVE to be in ANY part of this stupa project if given the opportunity.

  7. lewkwanleng on May 6, 2012 at 10:27 pm

As a Malaysian, I never thought I would have chance to get involved in making Stupa. Stupa to me is something so holy and so “far away” (too far to reach), let alone building one.

I sincerely wish to be selected as someone who can lay bricks for the holy Stupa. I will work hard to collect the merits :)

Please don’t miss this chance. Contribute in whatever way you can: effort, time, financially, help fund raise, marketing, etc…!!!

  8. Helena Chin on May 7, 2012 at 1:42 am

Thank you Rinpoche for your kindness and always think of ways to let us gain more merits.

  9. Mc on May 7, 2012 at 4:44 am

I am truly grateful that in my life I can get to witness and maybe even participate in the making of a stupa, and a Vajrayogini stupa at that. Each time I go to KFR and stare at the hills, I comprehend Rinpoche’s vision for KWPC a bit better and again I am filled with awe as to how much kindness is being bestowed upon us.

It is good to remember what Rinpoche said towards the end of the KWPC video..”together we can”. We all need to get committed to the Stupa project and beyond. Not just involved.

  10. nicholas on May 7, 2012 at 3:08 pm

Wow….what a great opportunity to have the chance to build Vajrayogini Stupa at KFR!

The Vajrayogini stupa will connect to a lot of people in future and so much people will gain the benefits. How lucky we are under our Guru kindness and guidance creating such a wonderful place for more people to collect merits.

Beside the stupa Rinpoche so kind to do very special blessing ritual called Ruchok. People can receive a direct blessing from this ritual by submitting their hair or nails, which are blessed during the prayers.

Just look at how great the benefits from building this Stupa?

Today we already started collecting hairs and nails for Ruchock.
    Wonderful!

  11. David Lai on May 7, 2012 at 4:48 pm

I used to think that a Stupa was just built with the main stucture, put all the holy items within it and seal it. Voila, you have a powerful and blessed Stupa that will radiate its blessings on all. However, I learnt that it is not so and there’s many things that needs to be done. Just to prepare the hair and nails of the people, a special Ruchok puja needs to be done first.

We are indeed fortunate to have this opportunity to be a part of the sacred mission to benefit others. One of the reason Rinpoche said he is doing this is because many of us will not practice Dharma sincerely. Hence, he is doing this to help us to collect a little bit of merit that will help us in our future rebirths.

  12. Pastor Chia on May 7, 2012 at 4:49 pm

I would like to thank Rinpoche very much for giving us the opportunity to put our item of identity together with such holy relics from all around the world. Rinpoche already explain that we will gain mass amount merits by doing so. Me as a useless student of Rinpoche do not deserve such a great blessing but i am really grateful that Rinpoche gave me this chance to make a strong connection with Vajrayogini. OM MANI PEDME HUNG

Dear Rinpoche, thank you very much for your kind offering & your compassionate thought for all other people around the world whom are not even a Kecharian at all or not met / heard about.

I took this opportunities to inform my very good friends & his family in Shanghai about the building of Vajrayogini stupa in KFR & they are very exicited about the whole affairs. ( Apparently they could not access to Kechara website in China, hence I save this particular write-up & email to her ). I really hope they too can benefits & gather merits from all the works being carried out by Rinpoche. On their behalf, I say, Thank You very much, Rinpoche. May you always in good health.

Thank you Rinpoche for the offer to be a ‘part’ of the Vajrayogini Stupa at Kechara Forest Retreat. Having our hair/nails inserted together with holy relics and objects in the magnificient Vajrayogini Stupa is a great honour though who am I to deserve it.

I pray that KFR will manifest very swiftly and all of Rinpoche’s wishes will come true.

    Hi Rinpoche & Team,
Thanks for the wonderful and precious offer for us to be part of the very blessed Stupa for mother Vajrayogini.
Its a very good to create a connection with Vajrayogini for her blessings and receiving her teaching in the future.
Now it’s all possible due to the kindness of Rinpoche. Thanks.

  21. Sean Pang on May 10, 2012 at 4:50 pm

I first heard about the Vajrayogini Stupa at KFR during Rinpoche’s talk on Wesak Day. Inviting people from all walks of life and of any faith to send in their hair and nails so that they will receive direct blessings is a show of great compassion!

Rinpoche also talked about setting up committees to complete the construction of the Stupa. I know we are far away from KL but we will do what we can to support this great project. Just being a part of it, whatever our role may be, is a blessing already.

Thank you, dear Rinpoche, for all that You do for all sentient beings. And sincere thanks also to all the unknown heroes who are working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this happen!!

    With respect,
    Sean Pang in Shanghai

  23. Albert on May 11, 2012 at 1:11 am

we are indeed to have the chance to be blessed by Vajrayogini, building a large stupa in Malaysia is just so amazing, this is very normal in Tibet or Nepal, but in Malaysia has become something very rare… what merits do we have by being able to be here…

  24. Darren on May 11, 2012 at 7:24 pm

This is a very special stupa as it will be the main attraction for people to visit our KFR to do prayers, offering and meditation.
I will definitely wash my hair and nails before i submit it.

  27. wan on May 12, 2012 at 3:51 am

We are very fortunate to have a rare chance to pass our nails and hair and our loved one to be placed into Vajrayogini stupa at KFR which bring extreme benefit to us even after we depart.

Rinpoche thoughtful and kindness is vast like an ocean and is go to everyone regardless Rinpoche know them or not. Its come from Rinpoche real compassion that never expect something in return.

May we be the part of cause to support the creation of Vajrauyogini Stupa which will bring benefit to many people in a near future.

  28. James Long on May 12, 2012 at 3:51 pm

We are so fortunate to have this ritual and Stupa to be done/built here in Malaysia. After reading all the articles on Stupa in another Rinpoche blog post(http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/10-articles-on-stupas-contest.html), it is so wonderful and great to have Stupa build in this country.

I still remember few years back when the monks from Gaden came and taught us all the ritual including Ruchok (set up only as we are not initiated)and few of us are fortunate to have our nails/hair to be blessed as well.

If we have the chance now, do not let it go easily, yes be greedy for blessing and do good things as we do not know when we will say good bye to this world which is a true that we cannot deny.

  29. tenzin llhamo on May 12, 2012 at 5:05 pm

How bless are we to be able to circumambulate and do prostrations at Kechara Forest Retreat! Imagine the amount of merits beings can collect just by looking at it. This will also create a cause for us to be able to plant a seed for Vajrayogini’s practice in the future.
I remember when I was in Kathmandu and looking at the huge amount of people circumambulating and prostrating Boudhanath Stupa the whole day! What a sight! Now we don’t have to go so far just to so! How wonderful!
Thank you Rinpoche for giving us the chance to collect tremendous merits.

  30. Tenzin Kyabsum on May 12, 2012 at 6:03 pm

Thank you for always thinking of ways for us to collect merits. So so lucky to be able to offer precious items/nails/hair to be inserted into the holy Vajrayogini stupa.. Will definitely get family and friends to submit their personal belongings to collect merits..

Thank you very much for always thinking of us, Rinpoche. Thank you so much!

  31. Girlie on May 12, 2012 at 6:50 pm

When the VY stupa is completed in Kechara Forest Retreat, many people would have contributed towards it. However that would not be the only stupa at KFR.

We submit our hair and/or nails to be consecrated into this stupa, we will continuously receive blessings in this life and even after we have passed away.

Rinpoche’s love and care for everyone is so huge…
This will be the 1st Vajrayogini stupa ever built here in Malaysia for all to be benefited… even an “ant” that crawls around this stupa will be benefited and blessed just like in one of the Buddha’s Jataka tales whereby due to the object itself, the ant collected great amount of merits to be reborn in his next life as a human and have the merits to become a monk. Even though the ant or any insect, may not know what he did, but by accidentally circumambulated around the stupa the Dharma imprint has been planted. This is due to the power of the holy object, the fully enlightened beings or statues, scriptures or the stupas.

I hope I will be around for this day when the stupa is being made, I sure want to participate in this holy sacred project! What an honor and how fortunate we are to be able to do this in this life time and to be protected by the three jewels life after life.

I love watching this video about Dharma work that was recorded by Rinpoche a few years ago. I have watched it a few times already and constantly go back to this blog post to watch it again every now and then… it helps me a lot to keep my motivation for Dharma in place. Perhaps it’s time for you to listen to this Dharma talk again! Here’s the link =) http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/me/dharma-work-attitude-tdl.html

Went out with a group of my writers tonight. We had gone to Petaling Street to purchase a lot of offering items for Manjushri…afterwards…. Had a nice meal at a restaurant specializing in China’s Dongbey province. The place is simple and not pricy but the food is mouth watering and superb. The 8 of us gulped down the food and boy was it satisfying. You can’t imagine. Then we adjourned to Delicious to have some coffee/tea/lychee tea and cakes and lively conversation and pick games. Had a good time spending time with wonderful people some of which I have known for years. Now doing sadhana and sleep soon. Tsem Rinpoche

For Ashlee – Dear Ashlee, I am happy to hear about your wish to help the animals. Each day of us not eating meat for the duration of our lifetime will accumulate into hundreds if not thousands of lives saved. I do need a lot of help with KAS and thank you very much for helping. When i first came to kechara, Alex was the first few people who shared his knowledge with me and I appreciate you both very much. With the blessings of Rinpoche, let us continue our journey together to manifest a safe haven for the animals as well as play an influential role to instill a caring nature in our community.

Being one of the closer student around Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, i do experience a lot of miracles, from someone who are very sick got heal or rain stop at certain moment that is urgent, some may think it’s all coincidence, let me tell you a real truth story that happened an hour ago. H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, like to rescue animals such as fishes, dogs, birds and etc. In our new Kechara Forest Retreat land, Rinpoche have kindly requested one of the liaison Beng Kooi to build a fish pond for all the fishes that Rinpoche rescued. The contractors that we got in to build the fish pond was slow and delay a few deadline that they gave. Just 2 days ago, Rinpoche instructed the fish pond project to be call off and all workers should leave the fish pond site as soon as possible. While we still thinking why Rinpoche cancel this project as it’s one of Rinpoche wishes to build a very comfortable place for fishes. Something happened an hour ago, there was a big bang came from the fish pond site, the whole artificial waterfall wall collapse without people go near it. This artificial waterfall wall was made out of cement, wire mesh, metal bar and etc, it weigh easily 200-300 Kgs. Luckily Rinpoche have giving us warming do not go near this waterfall 2 days ago, and should stop all construction wall, just imagine the workers are still working when the waterfall fall, some people might died or serious injury now. Due to humility Rinpoche will not say a word or show his premonitions power, this happened many many times. Rinpoche just save a few life without them knowing it. A lot of people will think why such horrible thing can happened in a holy land like Kechara Forest Retreat, a Buddhist site should always safe from all accident, but we believe if a place that will be use to benefiting thousands, a lot of obstacles will appear, I will take this artificial waterfall accident as part of clearing our negative karma, may all the negative karma from all of us be cleared. It’s glad that this happened before we move any fishes into this pond. In Tibetan culture, it’s an auspicious omen which represent bad obstacles have been cleared, and all our project will grow very smoothly later. It’s very important we follow our lama’s instruction/advice, even though sometime we might not understand it truly, because a real lama will never do anything which is not beneficial.

For tsemtulku – My dear Rinpoche,Alex & I met you 10 years ago. Because of your precious Dharma teachings & guidance, we are able to transform ourselves. Because of your Dharma vision, we now have 14 Departments for people with different skills & interest to be involve and for us to create merits in virtuous activities. I have been a part time vegetarian for sometime. Somehow i just wasn’t able to be a full vegetarian. After watching your teaching on “Integrity, Keeping promises & Vows”, it finally hit me. It is so true that having vows are not meant to “Imprison” us but really to help us transform positively to kick away our negative habits. I realize that from young, we have been condition to think that we have to eat meat and meat is delicious and it is part of life to consume meat in our daily diet. Hence we ignore the sufferings of others in order to indulge in our own taste buds. Lately, i have develop myself into feeding strays nearby my neighbourhood and I’m compelled to help strays via Kechara Animal Sanctuary. After deep contemplation, i realize that i cannot be wanting to help KAS and yet still eating meat. The equation is just so wrong. Now i can see clearly, it makes it so much easier to be a full vegetarian. Taking the vegetarian vow is not an imprisonment but it is another level of commitment to not be the source of pain to other sentient beings. It is a choice that we make to kick away our preconception of consuming meat for a balance diet.If one is against animal cruelty, then one should practice vegetarianism. Can’t be pitching for animal rights when you are still eating them. My daughter once said to me, “Mommy, animals are our friends so we shouldn’t be eating them”. I find that so profound coming from a kid. I’m very sure my family members will not be supportive of me going vegetarian but I pray that one day they will also come to the same realization as i have.
I humbly offer to Rinpoche my vegetarian vow and may it be dedicated to Rinpoche’s long life. May it also be dedicated to my family, loved ones and friends.
I will continue to get involve in KAS activities to assist Pastor Susan.
    Thank you my dear Lama.

Most amusing is this unparalleled ingenuity of the highly inspired dramatic slogan (self-explanatory) in the cover picture of http://www.facebook.com/MBFSG?fref=ts which HHDL and all Buddhas of the past, Buddhas of the present and Buddhas yet tocome, correspondingly are bowing their heads in deferential obeisance. Are we now transported to the Age of Somnambulism??? To earthlings, the most crucial life sustaining factor is NO AIR, NO LIFE, in so far as planet Earth and basic common sense are concerned.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Without any cheating on my part, I stand firmly on the ground in practicing the Dharma and in helping all sentient beings. I wish that all sentient beings could let go of the acts of self-deception and self-aggrandizement, so that they can really practice the Dharma in order to liberate themselves from cyclic existence and to help other sentient beings. Otherwise, it will be too late when they are feeling remorseful!"

We should have compassion for butchers. When we stop eating meat, we don’t make create the causes for them to slaughter animals contributing to their killing karma. Paul took a group of people to Kechara Forest Retreat today with Pastor Yek Yee to introduce to them about our projects. Paul tirelessly/kindly talks to many people this way. It's people like Paul who contributes to Kechara reaching out to many and benefitting them. When we do dharma and not see it as work, it's never a burden. We should see it as a way for ourselves to grow and creating the space for others to grow also. Kind people like Paul inspire me. Thank you Paul. Tsem Rinpoche

Dear all, This is Paris interviewing my sister Lidshma. She mentions when I was very young the monks would have me sit with them to do the Buddhist services which was highly irregular in New Jersey. They didn't have lay people even children sit with them to do the services. So she mentions this was very unusual in a good way. My sister Lidshma here mentions my mother (Dana) would always catch me in the night in my room in the dark sitting on my bed meditating and doing mantras. I did that always and had to avoid being caught by my mother. I did it nightly. So I did it secretly and without her catching me. If she did catch me, then there would be big drama and problems depending on the mood my mom was in. My practicing dharma/meditating/praying/mantras was not allowed at all by my parents. They were fiercely against it always. My sister remembers this here. My sister lives in Texas, USA. And our bio group had gone to USA to interview my family for my bio book. This is a snippet.
