Look at these incredibly BEAUTIFUL representations of Englighenment coming to Kechara House soon! We are just awaiting the completion of the renovations on our New Gompa or prayer hall.
This is the grand 10 ft Tsongkapa in Long Life form (Je Tse Zinma) that will be invited to our new Kechara Gompa under renovation now. It will be the centrepiece of our new Gompa or prayer hall.
Notice the man on the bottom left near Tsongkapa’s lotus…from that you can get a perspective of the size of Tsongkapa. (above)
The artist is darkened as to respect his anonymity working on the 7 ft Setrap Statue for our new Kechara Gompa. Setrap is the Dharma Protector of Kechara House and has shown many incredible signs to the practitioners here hence many are very devoted to Setrap now. The people adopting Setrap is more and growing.
The artist working on our sacred 7 ft Vajra Yogini statue for Kechara Gompa. Vajra Yogini will be the main higher tantra path Kecharians will engage in. Our whole organization is named after the divine Buddha Field of Vajra Yogini which is KECHARA.
In the centre of our Gompa will be Tsongkapa. To the left, Vajra Yogini and on the far right will be Setrap. The Lama, Yidam and dharma protector.

I still recall when a mutual friend told me about the Kechara outlet SS2 back in 2000 and visited it 2-3 times out of curiosity with another close friend and NOW…seeing it expanding in such phenomenal leaps and bounds!

Unfinished but so majestic already. Just by looking at them creates waves of benefits, what more to have them in our midst. Rinpoche, thank you for inspiring such beautiful representations of enlightenment for our beautiful home, Kechara.
It’s nice to see these photos as I don’t think that a lot of people have ever seen a statue that has not already been painted on with their respective clothes and ornaments don on already. I don’t think that I have ever seen a statue in clay in real life, thinking about it. Seeing what it look likes without all the extra things on the statue I still find them very powerful to look at, especially Setrap. The sculpturer have a great skill(…slightly jealous
) and I’m grateful that he has chosen to do Buddha statues. Kechara has done a great job by sourcing him out as he seems to be doing a great job. These beautiful statues will benefit many – those who see and pray to them in Kechara House 
I pray that the sculpturer will be able to create enough merits to have a good rebirth.

That’s right! And from Kechara’s side, Paul of Kechara Discovery (www.kechara.com/discovery) is single-handedly overseeing these statues. It’s not been easy – he has to travel almost every month to overseas to check on the progress and advise the artists on the iconography and details of each statue.
This is an accumulation of many years of Paul working on countless statues (which are now in our outlets), pendants, and other Dharma items. Seeing these pictures is a reminder of just how much work, effort, time and love has to go into the making of all these statues, that will be of so much benefit to people, in pujas, retreats etc
I like what you said about how most of us will never really know what goes into the making of a statue because we only usually see them when they’re up, shiny and beautiful on the altar. It’s really nice to see these photos of work in progress, and to see it all coming together.
These life size statues are amazing and I just cannot wait for it to come to Kechara House!
Liaison Paul Yap of Kechara Discovery http://www.kechara.com/b2b/ has worked tremendously hard in making sure these custom made statues are done correctly and it is a pain staking process. People don’t often see the back stage process of research, sourcing and looking for the right artist to do the job. Kudos to Paul and his team for making our dream come alive and for us all to be one step closer to achieving our new bigger, better Gompa to house and benefit more people.

How exciting! The 10 ft Long Life Tsongkapa, 7 ft Vajrayogini and 7 ft Setrap statues will soon be invited to the new KH Gompa. All these images are being commissioned by our very own Kechara Discovery (http://www.kechara.com/discovery/), the Kechara arm responsible for commissioning holy images and organizing pilgrimage tours. Enlightened images is the physical representation of the path to enlightenment and in order for an enlightened image to have blessings, the iconography of the images must be in accordance to the scriptural text of the particular deity. Kechara Discovery ensures that enlightened images commissioned by them meet this criterion so that anyone who sees these images will be blessed and inspired to practice their spiritual path. Kudos to Paul and his team for doing a great job!
How beneficial to have Lama Tsongkhapa coming to our Kechara House Gompa. Lama Tsongkhapa is particularly noted by High Lamas like Rinpoche to bestow peace, harmony as well as inner and outer growth of the organisation. On top of that, Lama Tsongkhapa is Manjushri and hence, he bestows the seven types of sacred wisdom upon students of Kechara House.
In Tibet, Lama Tsongkhapa is particularly special and sensitive because he manifests a lot of miraculous signs to faithful students. Lama Tsongkhapa and Tara are the two Buddha statues that seemed to manifest the most miracles in Tibet. Hence, having a Lama Tsongkhapa has tremendous blessings for us and hopefully with our sincere practice and holding of commitments, may the image of Lama Tsongkhapa reveal many miraculous signs for new people.
Rinpoche , thank you for posting these pictures. Many of us don’t see how much work goes on behind every major works. As in this case, so much preparations are done, how much work Liaison Paul Yap has to do to liaise with the artists, sculptures and statue maker before we even get to see these molds. Also, the hundreds of hours of teaching Rinpoche gave so that Paul can do his job well to ensure that the statues are made iconographically accurate as object of meditation and refuge. Rinpoche, thank you for imparting all these knowledge so we can benefit people in this region. I can imagine how beautiful these statues will be and awaits the day when they arrive into our new Gompa.
At Kechara House, we are so fortunate to receive so much education about Dharma. Even the behind-the-scenes work of Buddha Image creation is shard so openly. To add to this, the accuracy of the mudras is something many of us take for granted.
I remember when I first joined Kechara House, I received clear, comprehensive and passionate explanations about each mudra I saw at every Kechara Paradise outlet (retail outlets that sells all sorts of beautiful Dharma items) I visited. I was very impressed but it was not until later that I became extremely appreciative of the knowledge of the Kecharians plus their sincere willingness to share that knowledge. I realized this after I witness the condition of many other organizations that have limited knowledge about their Guru, Yidam and Dharma knowledge.
This blessing stems from Tsem Rinpoche, a resident Lama in Kuala Lumpur, who is always with us and ready to share first hand information about Dharma openly and generously. Rinpoche continuously find methods to educate us sustainably about the Dharma to that Rinpoche’s efforts will liberate us…and not entrap us (by making us reliant on his teachings).
One known method in which we can constantly obtain information about Dharma from Tsem Rinpoche is through this blog and all of Rinpoche’s other mediums of communication like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and website. As we always recognize a good deal when we see one, let’s all log on NOW and start communicating with our kind Guru and his team of entourage to suck up all the Dharma “goodies” we can!

Rinpoche’s blog is the expression of his constant care for our spiritual development and education. Showing us this 3 magnificient trinity of Lama Tsongkapa, Vajrayogini and protector Setrap statues as work in progress is an eye opener.
I believe the clay figures here form the body for the mould later. For the full blessings of the Buddhas to emanate through the statues, the dimensions and iconography must be accurate and precise according to the depictions in scriptures or traditional thangka painting commissioned or drawn by holy masters.All statues commissioned by Rinpoche are precise and hence will bring tremendous blessings to all.

Amazing! All the statues are so lifelike and graceful! I cant wait for them to appear in Kechara House. Vajrayogini is so magnificent, graceful and awe inspiring that i almost wanted to take her hand so that she can take me to Kechara Pureland. And Lama Tsongkhapa looks so calm, peaceful and assuring that it brings peace to my heart. Setrap looks detailed and ferocious. It looks really good and the level of details look really really fine. It looks so different from all of the other statues that i have seen so far…these look more refined and detailed.
I do wish that i could contribute at least a little to the sponsorship of the statues as the amount of merits will be huge! Every time someone prostrates to them, or gets inspired by their presence i get merits because it is because of my contribution it is there….hmm sounds like a plan…
Paul has spent many hours traversing the globe looking for trained artisans so that he can commission these beautiful statues for our new Gompa. His eye for detail ensures that the iconographies of these statues are correct as has been explained to him by Rinpoche. His job does not end there – he still needs to follow through on the progress and this means many more trips overseas to oversee the works-in-progress. These beautiful statues will benefit the many people who will walk through the doors of our Gompa.
If you think these statues are huge, wait until you see the ones planned for KWPC – there are going to be awesome “skyscrapers”.

Kechara Discovery (KD) has done a lot of good works, Liaison Paul work tirelessly to source out the super nice and also affordable statues around the world and make available for everyone to invite home in Malaysia. Besides that, KD has a wide range nice Buddha pendant that make available for everyone to purchased and wear it.
I’m truly amazed of Paul works and commitment to Rinpoche. And KD has grown so much, from 1 person department, and now a bunch of hardworking people like Louise, Yvonne, Bee Yen, Andy and also never forgets our JB friend – Yen Ping. Kudos to KD and Paul.
Wow! The statues are amazingly big. I really can wait to see them and our new Gompa. The students of His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche have a lot to look out for as the Gompa might be done before the of the current year of 2010! Most of Kecharian have a Lama Tsongkhapa, Vajrayogini and Dharmapala Setrap statues on their altars at home in different size which they has been making offering, doing prayer daily.
In Kechara house we have a 5th Lama tsonkhapa, 3ft Setrap and 5 ft Vajrayogini in Rinpoche ladrang which has been making offering constantly for the grow of Kechara organization. From the amount of merit that the whole kecharian have collected, hence the menifestation of the 10ft Tsongkhapa, 7ft Lord Setrap and 7ft Vajrayogini in our new gompa.
Liaison Paul have work tirelessly in traveling back and forward to aboard to oversee and check the iconogaraphy and details of statues to make sure it correct and perfect.
Wait till all statues compleated and invited to our new gompa, in that time everyone will be blessed even tho they just walk in to our new gompa..

The bigger the statue the more merit you collect. That is the reason why we need huge statues to grace the land they are on. It is said that gazing upon a holy statue of a Buddha will plant dharma seeds in the minds to be opened in the future. Making prostrations to huge statues can increase the collection of merits for healthier and stronger body. Many holy objects like mantra, protector string, wealth vase, photos and personal objects can be used to fill inside these statues.
A Chinese monk named Hai Tong initiated a project to carve a Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking three rivers to protect the simple people living near these waters from long-sufferings.
I am just waiting with so much anticipation and excitement. A 5 feet Vajrayogini!!! OMG, that is like a dream come true! A 10 feet Tsongkhapa! 7 feet Setrap too! I am already feeling the great bliss!
A few nights ago I had the priviledge to be invited to the Ladrang for dinner and to view the plans of the new Gompa. Datuk May, our Kechara House’s President, took the time to explain the plans to us with JP Thong, the Head of Tsem Ladrang.
I was just blown away by the details and care they have put into designing this new Gompa. I dare say that Kechara is the first Buddhist organization of its kind. We are certainly doing things very differently in order to benefit as many people as possible.
No one will be able to miss the new Gompa when it is completed. It will definitely shine into all the ten directions. I can’t wait!
The pictures are good to show us ‘behind the scene’ making of the statues. I am not sure if anyone would be as curious as me wanting to know what materials made up the statues, the processes they go through and the length of time required to finish each statue. Then we will be able to appreciate the labor of love by these people putting these together.
Can’t wait to see the statues in our new Gompa – it has to be magnificient! The general Malaysian public liked to admire statues, and seek blessings from them, as such, our new Gompa will attract more people from this region to find out for themselves more about our lineage and Buddhism.
As I write this, renovation work is being carried out at Kechara new gompa premises. The present gompa at KH1 is getting overcrowded each time there is a dharma activity hence the need to have a new gompa to sit some 700 odd people.
These three majestic images of Long Life Form Lama Tsongkhapa, Vajrayogini and Dharmapala Setrap will be invited, when ready, with grandeur and splendor. Look out for the opening date.

How awesome and inspirational these 3 images of Je Tsongkhapa, Vajrayogini and Setrap are!!! They are more than life sizes – so magnificient. I cannot wait for these images to be in our new Gompa at Kechara House. They will bring tremendous blessing to whoever see them, pray, do offering, or recite their mantra. They will bring wisdom, peace, harmony and stability to the area and country. There will be increase in spiritual growth as well as material growth.
Rinpoche is extremely careful in the detail of the iconography when constructing these enlightened images. Iconography must be accurate and precise according to the scriptures as these images will create faith and bring tremendous amount of blessing.
One thing that never ceases to amaze me is how beautiful the statues in Kechara House are. From the statues in Kechara House prayer hall to the Kechara Paradise outlets, they are mesmerizingly beautiful and ichnographically correct. So much so , that I could not resist to invite a Shakyamuni Buddha statue to start off my own alter and my practice. Little did I know the amount of work the Kehara Discovery department has to do to bring in the Buddha statues. Not forgetting to mention the amazing pendants and the various dharma items which continues bring blessings to anyone who owns them. Thank you KD !
Thank you for sharing the photos on the process and progress of the Lama Tsongkhapa , Vajrayogini and Setrap statues, Rinpoche! They are amazingly gorgeous… I especially love looking at the facial expression of Lama Tsongkhapa in the photo. He seems so very peaceful, approachable and strangely ‘parental’. It shouldn’t be too long now till the statues arrive for the opening of the new Gompa in Sunwaymas. My room in KMP being immediately behind one of the shop lots which is to be part of the new Gompa, I cannot help peeping in through the windows occasionally to see how things are going over there. Counting down the days till the arrival or the three majestic statues!

Kechara House is gearing up for expansion and due to the many new people who have started joining Kechara the current Gompa cannot cater for so many people coming for talks or pujas simultaneously. The pictures here show the statues that are being made for our new gompa. The new ‘Je Tse Zinma’ is so beautiful and it is the long life form of Lama Tsongkhapa. As humans we have two major obstacles that can stop us from practicing the holy dharma 1) shortness of life 2) ignorance
If we have a short life there wouldn’t be much time for us to practice the dharma and we cannot reach to any kind of spiritual maturity. From the deepest ignorance we can develop wrong views about the Dharma and not want to practice them at all, this is another hindrance to receiving the dharma, hence no matter how eloquent the speaker or high the teacher is if we hold on to our wrong views there will be no way the teacher or lama can get through to the listener.
Je Tse Zinma counters both of this obstacles by bestowing long life through doing the practice and since the main aspect of Lama Tsongkhapa is wisdom, the practice will help us gain the wisdom to overcome our ignorance.
10 ft Long Life Tsongkapa, 7 ft Vajrayogini and 7 ft Setrap statues will be in the new gompa very very soon. Everyone that visit the Kechara new Gompa will be able to see this big magnificent statues and be blessed. I think the bigger the statues the better because ordinary people with no empowerment rely upon Budhhas statues to seek comfort. Thats how most people get involve in practising Dharma. Buddha statues represent the energy and road map to enlightenment , simply seeing it will plant the seeds in to our mind for eons to come to prepare our close mind to achieve DHARMIC BLISS.
I heard the stories goes that the master craftman of this statues reside in a very secluded area and for Paul to get there is not easy at all. It takes him lots of hardwork and sweat and patience to get the statues completed. To create a iconography correct statues is never an easy task and it take a very long time. But in the end once these 3 statues are place in Kechara new gompa every hardwork done by Kechara liaisons and Paul especially will be absolutely delighted.
When that day arrives i think even the Buddhas , Boddhisattvas , Yidams and all other enlightened beings will be pleased !
They are just amazing, they will be soo powerful when they are invited back home to Kechara’s gompa in renovation. Statues have a habit of growing when our motivation is correct, Rinpoche has said this before in the past.
The pictures posted just now are a reflection of this fact of life. Rinpoche has also said before that having a Tsongkhapa statue in your house / environment you will never go hungry, there will be peace and calm. I can feel it with this new Tsongkhapa for our gompa, Paul has done a great job yet again. It will be a most memorable day when Tsongkhapa is enthroned in the larger KH. I don’t know but I am happy for us all right now that we are moving towards our shared vision for kechara world peace center.
Its incredible that only a few years back when i first joined Kechara, we just had KH2 opening across the streets, and then other departments got their own buildings and now Kechara House is expanding again. This time to a new Gompa to accomodate more and more growing members! With new BIG BIG statues to attract even more!
Kudos to Paul for his hardwork and he again impressed me with this time with him single handedly overseeing the workings of these statues. I can assure everyone here this is not an easy job and given that all the hand mudras and shape have to be very precise. I can’t wait for the statues to reach into our Gompa!
Just look at the molding of the statue sculpture at the picture itself. You can see how amazing this statue will look like. I like all 3 statues, 10ft Tsongkhapa statue, 7 ft Vajrayogini and 7 ft protector Setrap statue. I can’t wait all 3 statues ready when new gompa is up. Liaisons Paul has work hard and put so many effects to make his trip again and again to the factory to correcting the mold, make sure statue to look prefect. When Paul, Liaison and Head of Kechara Discovery shows me the pictures of the giant Vajrayogini’s making in progress, I was asking him, “How tall is that Paul?” He just replied smiling 7 feet. My eyes went popping and right away I knew it was for our new Gompa. Then he continued with pictures of Lama Tsongkhapa and Setrap and I do believed I didn’t blink at all. I was intrigued with the craftsmanship of the statues. It is so well defined and so full of details. Paul had done a great job getting this job supervised and he had been so busy with so many works, yet is in China for a week to make sure that everything is going smoothly.
After seeing the pictures, I am even more excited to wait for the actual result once the statues and shipped in for our awaiting Gompa.

What a marvellous progress Kechara House has achieved to date. Am very thankful to be introduce to this great organization while I’s in KL 4 years ago and that has make a great influence in my life that makes me a better person and understand the true meaning of beautiful life. Our new gompa will have a 10 ft Long Life Tsongkapa, 7 ft Vajrayogini and 7 ft Setrap statues! Our new Gompa comprising of 4 sahoplots will be ready soon after renovation. Three main big statues will be the main object of reverence in our new Gompa. The biggest size statue will be a 10 feet Tsongkapa then will be a 7 feet Setrap and a 7 feet Vajrayogini. Our new Gompa when finished and decorated will be very different from other centres or temples. The reason for Tsongkapa to be in the centre is that he is our centre’s Idam. Setrap is Kechara House Protector and Kechara House is the abode of Vajrayogini. We have lots of supporters for Lord Setrap as a lot of people can testify how Setrap has help them solve their problems. It is a popular practice for people who come to Kechara House.
As had been said in some of our Dharma teachings, “The most powerful merit one can accumulate,and accumulate easily, is in relations to Holy objects of the Buddha. By making statues of a Buddha, one accumulates infinite inconceivable merits that immediately becomes a cause of Enlightenment. Every merit accumulated by making statues and by making offerings to the statues immediately become the cause of Enlightenment”. Therefore the grand ten feet Tsongkhapa statue in long life form, and the 7 feet Setrap and Vajra Yogini statues for our new Kechara Gompa will be ” beautiful representations ” of enlightenment coming into our Kechara House very soon. Our whole Kechara House Organisation, together with all its followers, members and friends will be so greatly blessed. Making offerings to the statues will, it is said, receive equal benefits as if you are making offerings to the real devine being in accordance to our Lord Buddha’s golden words – “There is not one single difference between making offerings to me now and in the the future, with Devotion, makings offerings to my reflections the merit is equal and the result is equal”. This is how all the hard work in progress and finally it has arrived in the new Gompa and getting transformed for the new gompa opening on 27 Nov 2010.
It is a very special feeling to see these work-in-progress pictures. It is something like reading through old albums.
Time passes us by quickly. We have always been in never-ending rush for something, from dawn to dusk. And usually, we do not do much for the development of our spiritual path.
With the hardwork of all those involved in this project, I have the great merits to see these three buddhas in the Gompa. Without the guidance of Rinpoche and the perseverance of all those involved, the Gompa will not be possible, these three Buddha statues will not be possible.
