Chia reading Rinpoche's blog

4:00 AM – SUNDAY JUNE 4, 2010

Chia is one of my oldest student and he is not the tech-savvy type as he says. I am very proud of him that he’s taking his time to learn up on how to post comment on my blog posts….

Chia has been quite frightened of anything having to do with internet, sending emails or even reading them. But in these last few months, he really went all the way and now getting much better. He is here reading my blog articles and even leaving comments. Good for Chia!! I am happy for him to overcome a fear of something new.

There’s alot of people afraid of technology. But nothing to be afraid of. Like everything in life, if you learn it up well with a good motivation, you can use it to benefit many people. BENEFIT IS THE KEY.

Tsem Tulku

P.S. Everyone must see this video of a very happy Chia swinging and singing in the car on the way to the ladrang earlier to read blogs…hehehe…Chris sent me the video…Chia is a star!!!

Go Chia! You should start a blog too! You are a geek deep down too, welcome to checkered shirts, pocket protectors and big glasses. Seriously though, I also am happy to see you up late and in front of the computer. Most people would be at home sleeping like a baby but you choose to stay up late, and type no matter how long it will take you to do it. That’s patience, determination and something to admire. I shall take a leaf from your book, and just do it too, can be applied to many areas in our lives, thank you for your example.

  2. Joy Kam on Jul 4, 2010 at 5:08 am

Bravo Chiarina!!! You can do it!
I must admit that I am one person that hates computers too believe it or not!!! When FB came out, I thought what a waste of time! But no one can deny the facts, the world is spinning so fast with all sorts of new technology and if we don’t learn the basics to say the least, we’ll definitely be left behind.
It also reminds me of Rinpoche’s constant advice to us to always be open to learning new things and never say “YOU CAN’T” and build your foundation on that. So let’s do it for the bigger picture – the right motivation. And you are doing it and I am very happy for you sista!

I turn around….and what do I see……CHIA ON THE LAPPIE-TAPPIE!!! :) Hahaha it’s really cute when Chia asks other people around him how to spell this and that in English. He’s learning two skills at one go: learning the English language and being more technologically-savvy! :)
I’m proud that Chia has pushed himself to learn how to tweet, facebook and blog. He is really committed to spreading the Dharma and understands that being able to navigate around the internet is an essential tool to carry that out in this modern day. Being 21, being able to type, skype, facebook, myspace and tweet comes as naturally to us as writing on a piece of paper, but hopefully when a similar challenge comes up when I’m Chia’s age I hope to be able to tackle it head-on like how he is doing now!
    KUDOS CHIA! :)

  4. Wan Wai Meng on Jul 4, 2010 at 7:14 am

Its really good for Chia to push himself to learn up new technologies. The only way to confront our fears is to confront it :) . Once we confront it the fear won’t be so big anymore. FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real.
Yeah in this internet age, information flows as the speed of light to all corners of the globe. We will be left behind if we do not embrace technology. Chia being a senior student of Rinpoche has a lot of dharma knowledge to share. What better way for him to share his knowledge via the internet!

  5. Jean Mei on Jul 4, 2010 at 7:42 am

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Nice video Chia, can’t wait to see the lower half of your body move to the music!! :P

  6. James on Jul 4, 2010 at 9:41 am

Chia overcomes his fear to learn up to use email, Facebook, msn and soon learn how to tweet in twitter! Good for Chia. From internet we can get so many information, new news, teachings and improve ourselves.
He is going to perform on 18th July in our Charity dinner. In the video you can see that Chia was happily practicing the movements in the car. Not many people willing to let go their ego/face to sing or even to find out some information from the counter, yet Chia willing to do a drag show for Charity together with other team members.
    Please come and support!

  7. Chris on Jul 4, 2010 at 10:22 am

Haha… this is so funny! Chia’s dancing in the car. He really can’t wait for
his coming performance on 18 July for the Dinner & Auction organized by
Kechara. (www.kechara.com/peace-centre). As a man, he destroys his
ego and performed in front of the camera and also allows us to record.
Chia’s really coming all the way. As he don’t know and frightened of learning
all these computer stuffs and yet he willing to learn. For the past few days, he
started learning how to use facebook and create his own email. It’s very good
for him and I feel happy for him too.
Like what Wan Meng said is true. It is good for him to share his dharma
knowledge via Internet. Rinpoche also say “NEVER SAY YOU CAN’T
BECAUSE THAT’S NOT THE REAL YOU SPEAKING. We shouldn’t never
give up and say we cannot this or cannot that, we must put our effort to do it. Once we overcome the doubt,
everything will become easier for us.

  8. Irene Lim on Jul 4, 2010 at 10:31 am

Chia, you are a wonder girl. Overnight you have learnt to be technology savy, dance in the c ar and become the big star – the drag queen! You have come a long way Chia, free your inhibition – that is what our Lama wants us to be – free of our ego, so in the future we could receive the highest Yoga tantric initiation from our him.
You may think oh what is the big deal? Do you know our Lama is the 4th in line of the sacred Varjrayogini lineage holder directly from the most eminent Lama, Pabhongkha Rinpoche. You may ask ‘ so what?’ Well, if we have initiation from our Lama, the Most venerable Tsem Rinpoche, you will quickly attain his state of mind, the same state of enlightened mind as Vajrayogini. Isn’t this marvelous?

I rejoice in Chia’s turn around. I can relate to him ( the resistance part ) as I am from dinosaur age.
The WWW is the key to doing big things and going global. This resource is basically free and there is no limit to its reach other than one’s imagination and ideas to harness it.
Whether it is to spread a message of goodwill, Buddha’s teachings,an expose,to promote our products, gathering information etc ,whatever we want the world to know can be done with the click of a button. Likewise access to unlimited knowledge also is done with a click.
I am inspired by Chia whom i know is even less tech savvy than me but willing to move to next level.
Most of all,I will learn and be good in using it because through this media I can share knowledge and info to bring so much benefit to so many.

Thank you for Justin, Joy and Jean Mei comments. I never expect I will appearl from rinpoche blog tonight. I was scratches out of my head and squash my brand how to write my comment in 100 words in each comment post up at rinpoche blog. So far for the pass 5 hours I only managed to post out 6 comments. These will my number 7 comments. I suppose to post my comments in Chinese, but I can’t ready type out all the words in mandarin. So have to type out in English. I’m has been lazy learned computer for so many years, but for the growth of KWPC to manifest, I will learn fast. I want to be there when KWPC up. Tonight I will learn more how to tweet and make comments in the face book. Nothing is impossible if i make up my mind, that is how I feel now.
    Regards,
    Chia

    Dear Chia,
I’m really happy for you that for the love and dedication to Rinpoche, you’ve overcome your fear for the internet .
Look what you can do now….you are posting on Rinpoche’s blog !
Two nights ago Rinpoche taught that our mind has no limit, it’s up to us how far we wish to expand it. That is why we can be enlightened !
You are an encouraging example to pyramids like me who always think internet related stuff eg. Twitter, facebook etc are for people younger than 40. I just could not relate to all these virtual things, they seem so “unreal” to me.
Well, I better evolve now otherwise I’ll turn into a real pyramid !

Chia you’re a STAR. I love your little performance in the car..on a more serious note, you looked real comfortable in your own skin.
More importantly, you letting go of what you are NOT comfortable in ie., technology is a big deal. I remember many years back, I spent time teaching you how to do emails…I nearly hang myself! haha…Sista, i am very proud of you. You have come a long way..from learning how to turn on the computer to commenting on blogs etc! Efforts as such is inspiring and you are inspiring many people as you can read on the comments page. I am encouraged and inspired by your efforts!
    cheers

CHIA, 加油! 加油!(keep up the good work!)
Chia has changed and once he choose to do, he will and i experienced him as a very good example when he nurturing newbies. He is a regular attendee and umze for the chinese Setrap Puja. I remembered at one point Chia being very selective in what he likes and dislikes, but now for Dharma, he seldom complains and willing to sacrifice his time to talk to the newbies, to learn to post, FB and tweet etc…..I am proud of him.
Chia is a good dharma teacher too. People like to listen to his stories, dharma yet very interesting…
Chia once shared with us the topic of MEDITATION OF DEATH during one of his dharma class, he explained with example of how he went through during his dad’s sickness, how Rinpoche helped his family etc. It was very touching and the story gain faith and trust towards our dharma protector-LORD SETRAP.
Chia introduced many many newbies and customers to involve in KH activities and pujas, he set a very good example in this.
Chia, never say CANNOT, you can learn how to type chinese if you want to, go for it and do some chinese comments in the chinese blog too. YOU CAN, I KNOW YOU WILL!!

  14. Wendy on Jul 4, 2010 at 4:06 pm

It was such an unusual but pleasant sight to see Chia in the ex-E div room in Ladrang completely glued to his screen posting comments on Rinpoche’s blog. Sitting next to him was his tutor JJ who patiently answered all his questions whether IT or English language related. I am happy for Chia that he is really doing something to overcome his fear in technology. I am sure Chia will be of great benefit to the cyber community as him being a long time student of Rinpoche has plenty to share with everyone about his experiences with Rinpoche and Dharma. I love listening to Chia’s stories on Rinpoche and I believe if he shares it with more people online, it would inspire many people just as it has inspired me when I heard his stories.

  15. Albert on Jul 4, 2010 at 5:13 pm

Chia is one of the very first people I met when I came in to Kechara, I’m amazed by his in-depth dharma knowledge and vast experience in his spiritual journey, he explained to me very well about different deity’s quality and their symbolism. Two years working with him in Kechara Paradise, I have seen him going uphill and downhill, although during his most difficult time, he has been striving very hard and never gave up. From someone very close up onto himself and slowly open up, he showed a very good example in his spiritual path.
People used to told me that whenever he touch on any computer, the setting will be out, but now he has been using his laptop to type his reports, updates, although sometimes halfway typing, he will give a sudden shout: AH!!!!! Haha, all his typing gone, and have to re-type again, but very obvious, he really improved a lot on something that he is so not used to it. he showed a good example to a lot of us who are new into Kechara.
GO!! GO!! CHIA, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Chia oh Chia! Why did it take you so long to come out from where you were? You love to dress up, you love to sing & dance and you have no inhibitions to cross-dress – you just love it.
I am happy for you that you are now part of the IT-savvy world. No doubt that it took you a long time to overcome the fear of this thingy called a laptop (affectionately called Lappie) but look – now that you have become the best of pals, it seems that you both are now inseparable – Siamese Twins in town?
Good of you to turn up at ex-E office to get down to “business” late last night, even after an exhausting but fulfilling evening down in the city. We all know what you did. No secret, heh?
You have truly taken Rinpoche’s advice to heart and let go of your fear of anything technical and you are leaving so many of us behind – we must catch up with you otherwise we would really be living in the dinosaur era.
Listen to our Lama, our Guru – he can never be wrong; he never is.

  18. Julia on Jul 4, 2010 at 6:24 pm

My dear brother, you made it! I admire you brother! You had overcome your fear. Let me tell you, I have that fear too. But from today on, because of you I will start reading all Rinpoche’s blogs and posting comments. You know, you know so much about dharma, not through reading but REAL experience! After all these years you have been following Rinpoche to everywhere and met so many people, seeing how Rinpoche saved people’s lives and helped them to overcome their huge and small problems. Those stories that you told me were legends! I think you can write a book about it. It’s such a good experience to share with everybody, such as in our Friday Lamrim Class, Sunday Manjushri Adults and Kids Class, I am sure people will love it.
I can’t wait to see you performing on stage. 18th July, Kechara World Peace Center first charity dinner, you gonna turn yourself into a star and shine through many people’s hearts. Yes Chia, there’s nothing we cannot do if we put our heart in it and get our hands on it. From today on, I will take you as my example and always remind myself, for Dharma let’s just DO IT and don’t look back!

  19. ruby on Jul 4, 2010 at 6:43 pm

Wow ChiaRINA! Well done! 2 years ago, when you had to learn to do emailing, you were pretty resistant. And now, you can do postings, FB and tweet. Who knows, one day soon, you could have your own blog too and become one of the more famous bloggers!
To some, it may seem fun and hip that our ChiaRINA is techsavy now. I see it as your expression of guru devotion and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. May this be an inspiration to many to emulate.

  20. Justin Cheah on Jul 4, 2010 at 6:43 pm

    My Dear Chia,
I am so happy for you the moment I received a usual MMS updates that you have been busy posting comments using a laptop computer that you have always feared of doing. I rejoice for you for having overcame your fear and brace it by confronting it rather than shying away from it.
Like every Dharma brother and sisters who have posted in this thread, I am glad that you have taken heed of what Rinpoche advised you. I came to know recently you were a cook before you met Rinpoche and had been very loyal to Rinpoche eversince.
I sincerely wish you all the best in your future comment postings! I am sure you will come up with a blog of your own in near future hehe. Happy posting!

  21. margaretlee on Jul 4, 2010 at 6:47 pm

I still remember those days when Chia had to write 5 new news and emailed to Rinpoche as an assignment , and it was like pulling a buffalo across the river, sometimes he would do it and sometimes he would not. Chia is not a techno –savy guy at all, for him to send an email and to save a contact on the address book is a big thing for him, though not for many of us. During the years, he failed and he tried again. He never gives up. So to see him now on you tube happily dancing his way in the car to ladrang to do postings on Rinpoche’s blog is so refreshing. It’s a new Chia! It’s a new Chia who has overcome the worst fear in himself. We all have our own fears and thousand of reasons to justify for not learning a new skill, then 10 years down the road, we are still that same old and boring person. I applaude Chia for trusting Rinpoche, and even he failed many times , he never gave up and applied continuous effort. The result for Chia is crystal clear now. I am really happy for him.

Chia is the first person in Kechara Organization that i have met in 7 years ago. In that time, there was only Kechara Paradise Outlet in SS2 where chia does his dharma works. I always see chia talked with members and people who walked- in shop hour and hours, listen to their problems and to share with them Dharma which helped them from their suffering which they were facing. He has so much passion to help others and with his knowledge and patience he has benefit a lot of people.
When i have any dharma questions the first person i asked was chia. From day one till now, Chia is the person that gave advice to our members of how to set up their altar according to traditional way and also beautiful, yes chia is very artistic and creative also.
Chia has followed and served Rinpoche for many years, he did everything as in that time there was just a small group and he has learned a lot from rinpoche.
Chia, I so proud of u and i like your wonder girl dance!! I’m looking forward to see you on the stage with make up, costumes and high heels on 18 July!! U made it and Kechara Boleh!!!
If u never met chia before, and would like to meet him, u can go to visit Kechara Paradise oulets at 1 utama branch, sunway pyramid branch and new location of ss2 branch. Find out more about chia as (http://www.kechara.com/shopping/about-us/our-team/ )

  23. henry ooi on Jul 4, 2010 at 7:57 pm

It’s not easy for Chia to write in English as he’s Chinese educated and especially typing on a computer. But Chia is learning and doing it.
I guess it’s not whether he, and the rest of us, knows or not, it’s whether we want to. We hate to push ourselves to overcome our laziness because it’s so comfortable to stay lazy. But then again our laziness is also selective because we are not lazy to doing things we like, eg partying, club hopping, watching TV, shopping, gossiping, gambling, eating, sleeping….
Chia is setting a good example for all of us to follow. Do we want to?

  24. kennywong75 on Jul 4, 2010 at 9:23 pm

I’m very proud of brother chia on his effort to go high tech…. he was just telling me the other day how uncomfortable it is for him to use the computer…
I’v always been a silent observer, just reading the posts and pondering on it. END…
After seeing what chia has done, I decided to jump into the band wagon and will put in some effort in commenting on the subjects in whatever capacity I can as a newbie…
And YES it wasn’t that hard to sign up an account and start blogging… I totally agree with what Henry said… I was just being plain lazy…. heh heh…
Thank you for showing good effort and example brother Chia…

    First I was afraid
    I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
    without you by my side
But I spent so many nights
thinking how you did me wrong
    I grew strong
I learned how to carry on…
Yes, Go Chia! A very happy chia!!! It is good to see Chia is very committed in everything he does and he keeps trying and learning and never gives up… Just like what Albert had said, Chia has a deep understanding & knowledge of Dharma (he’s GOOD!) and is a senior student of dear Rinpoche. He was one of the few who had nurtured me when I first joined Kechara.. He inspired me a lot and helped me answered a lot of questions and doubts. Along the way, he would assist me in anyway he could.. What a great Dharma brotha! (or sista?) hehe…
No matter what it is, thankyou Chia.. and i am glad to see you singing and dancing happily in the car. I am looking forward to you stunning performance!!! :)

  26. Paris on Jul 4, 2010 at 11:30 pm

What I love most about this post is the priceless photo of Chia on the computer. It’s so cute and heart-warming to see how much he is concentrating on the task at hand, and happy to do it. As everyone’s already said, he is sooo not into computers and techy things so this is a big hurdle for him.
May I also note that Chia was out running around the city on another project all night. He started reading and posting on the blog only at about midnight. That’s another thing about the old chia – he used to luurrrrrve just hanging out at home doing nothing, watching soap dramas, reading gossip rags… And Chia loves to sleep! So tonight, he’s not just pushing himself to overcome his techno-phobia but also pushing beyond a comfort zone, to do more, achieve more, learn more and come out of a shell.
Actually, this quality in him is not new – he is, after all, one of the students who have been with Rinpoche for the longest time. He was one of the few people who stuck by Rinpoche even when Rinpoche had nothing, when many other students had run away and all the odds were against Rinpoche (in the old days). He continued to serve and help Rinpoche, help hold the fort and rebuild. This is the strength that Chia has always had and it is great to see it emerging so brightly once again :)

I came to know Chia since year 1999. He used to be Rinpoche’s assistant for many years, not until 2 years ago. Chia is very helpful, and his DHARMA PRACTICE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. He has a lot of patience to explain to people who wants to know more about Dharma and Practice Dharma in Rituals. That’s why he was tranferred out from Tsem Ladrang to the outlets. Those who want to know more about Dharma and personal assistant, you may find Chia in KECHARA PARADISE OUTLETS, OR LOG INTO kechara.com/paradise
As what Rinpoche said, for Chia to go into the net and do email for hours and hours, it’s A VERY BIG DEAL to him..It is all because CHIA WANTS TO MOVE TO ANOTHER LEVEL AND FOR THE MANIFESTATION OF KECHARA WORLD PEACE CENTRE IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE..!!!. I am very very happy for Chia.
Chia is really wants to help for the manifestation of KWPC, without wasting time, in the car he was practising his SWANK LEG DANCE..!!! Don’t forget everyone, Chia will be participated in KSK FUND RAISING DINNER JULY 18. PLEASE COME AND HAVE FUN WITH CHIA AND MANY MORE. PLEASE LOG INTO kechara.com TO FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION. THANKS
    Love,angel

Seeing the picture of Chia glued to the monitor screen is really inspiring. For someone who has a phobia with IT stuff, Chia had really come a long way.
Chia is one of the people I first met when I joint Kechara a few years back. His dharma knowledge, rituals, protocol in serving sangha, you name it, is really commendable.
He is one of the best persons for anyone to seek advice when in doubt re rituals or dharma questions and Chia is forever ready to impart his knowledge happily.
Not only did Chia overcome his phobia with IT stuff, he is also one of Kechara House well known drag queen performer! I really admire his courage and his strong Guru devotion in trusting Rinpoche 100%! Setting a good example for everyone to follow!
    Thank you very much, Chia!

  29. Elena on Jul 5, 2010 at 1:41 pm

I’m so proud and happy for Uncle Chia! I’ve realised over the years that he’s utterly and totally devoted to Rinpoche and even though he might let his fears take over sometimes (like the rest of us do), ultimately he will do anything that Rinpoche says (like many of us do not). He doesn’t live in fear of making a fool of himself because he realises Rinpoche’s instructions are never to harm him…and he’s smart enough to see that the people who’ve stuck by Rinpoche over the years, and have followed their lama’s instructions have only improved. The pictures and videos show the best of him…the picture shows he’s hardworking and determined, and the video shows he’s fun-loving and kind, and comfortable with himself. These are some of the qualities within Uncle Chia that we can really admire!

  30. mayy on Jul 5, 2010 at 2:57 pm

Wow! Chia….I am very happy for you. Singing and dancing in the car now! Hehehehe….
You have changed so much from the Chia that I have known years ago. For these past months you have become more and more “relax” (not the comfort relax) and becoming more cheerful. You have become an inspirational source to a lot of people and to me too. The new Chia now is pushing himself a lot lately to learn what he don’t like. Like him, I was never so good with this tech stuff but I am learning too. We have to flow with the tide and if not, we will be left far behind lonely and desolate.
Cheers to you Chia and Thank You!!!

  31. Kok Yek Yee on Jul 6, 2010 at 4:50 am

Yes, I am happy Chia overcomes his fear and ego to prove others wrong, HE WANT BE ONE OF THE PIONEER WHO CREATING THE LEGACY.
Chia is my dharma house housemate, he also my dharma brother who knew dharma double than me. When I first join Kechara, chia is one of the dharma brother teach me a lot thing. After than Chia, jj and shin live in jamyang house together, we have Becky now. When I just moved in jamyang house I knew nothing about Buddhism. I learn very fast when I moved in dharma house. Chia is one of the housemate always shares dharma to me patiently.
As you know Jamyang house people is quite poor, chia even took the bigger room and pay the more rental for the house to help his junior dharma brother and sister. Chia set a good example to me; we live in dharma house as a family need to take care of each other. To me, as a fresh face in Kechara I won’t forget in my life.
I also like to ask chia opinion for spiritual part and chia always gives very good advices. I am appreciate this all the time.
One thing I like Chia is when I asked for his advice regarding spiritual part. His advice is clear and follows what Rinpoche teach him. We all know chia is blur and careless, but when I asked him advice; he is alert.
Last two years, I think is chia downfall time, he became very self-centre, sleepily, don’t care, keep quiet, anger and self-absorb. As I feel very disturbing, why a senior dharma student can be degenerate like this??? I tried my best to do what I can, but I failed finally. I am quiet worried honestly.
I knew chia struggled himself, he feels nothing at all last two years. Now, Chia back!!!
I am so happy and rejoice!!! I believe in our spiritual journey, everyone have their own downfall. Some people need some time, some people just shift in second; Rinpoche says never late if you decide move on!!
I am extremely happy see chia change. Now is 439am, chia still alert and typing in front of laptop…YES, CHIA PROVE some of us WRONG, HE IS TRANSFORM!
Chia, as your housemate and dharma sister, I want to say thank you for sharing and advice, I will appreciate it always.

Like Mr Ngeow, I was inspired by Chia. I also belong to the dinosaur age and was reluctant to learn new technology mainly out of sheer laziness. I can do the basic things and rely on others to do the harder stuff. For years, this worked just fine. Until now. I understand Rinpoche’s intention and wish that we learn new technology in order to benefit others. In my place of work, there are numerous courses which I can take to improve myself. If I do not take advantage of this opportunity, I might regret it for the rest of my life. I will sign up for some relevant courses this month(they are free!) and also learn on my own.

  33. Jay Jae Chong on Jul 6, 2010 at 1:31 pm

When u get to know Chia, you will get to know a walking dictionary of Buddhist iconography, trashy Chinese magazines, sometimes known to be the Zhong Guo Bao (China Daily) man, animal lover, and the latest addition to his role in Swank Leg! Hehe
Amongst all the above mentioned, Chia is a warm and caring guy who’s into Dharma and loving Rinpoche very much. He is very loyal to Rinpoche and has been with Rinpoche for a very long time.
His latest commitment to Rinpoche is to update his not-so-savvy self to being tech savvy. This is because he loves Rinpoche and would like to spread Rinpoche’s love to many by expressing his love for Rinpoche in this way.
I love Chia as my brother and I’m very happy he’s very passionate about his comments on Rinpoche’s blog. Chia, like many people under Rinpoche’s constant and unadulterated care and love for these people now bear fruit:)
    love love love,
    JJ

Hahaha!!! Congradulations Uncle Chia! Learning how to use the internet is not hard personally but it might be haerd for others. I think when Rinpoche written that there’s alot of people afraid of technology. But nothing to be afraid of. Like everything in life, if you learn it up well with a good motivation, you can use it to benefit many people. I thought that was 100% true as if you learn stuff with a good motivation, the motivation to help others, you will succeed no matter what. From the video of Uncle Chia in the car, I think that he will make a lovely singer/dancer haha… Thanks for the funny video!

    Terima Kasih Rinpoche!
I first met Chia on the last Kechara Paradise roadshow/exhibition at Sunway Pyramid when I volunteered my time there and as I was helping him with stuff, we got into a conversation on all sorts. It was interesting to see how he was willing to share his story and especially entertaining some of my ‘tough’ questions and gave me another dimension of looking at Kechara and especially Rinpoche..
I must salute his willingness to be open and have seen him in action at work. Amiable and open guy.
I must confess..when I saw the video on him in heels…I was like ROFLLMAO…but again, ahem! it takes a REAL MAN to walk in heels!
    LOL

Chia learning and coping with the computer is a fantastic real-life Dharma lesson. We all have fears but the best way to overcome it is not running away but to confront it. With proper guidance and support from the experts and genuine efforts from our side, nothing is impossible.
The fear of operating computer will soon disappear through learning. Before long Chia will discover the ease of using the computer through practice. And soon by gaining competency he will be hooked by it. One day in the not so distant future, don’t be surprised hearing Chia telling someone that he can’t function without it.
We too can overcome our fear..whatever it maybe, the way Chia will overcome his computer-phobia.

  38. joey on Jul 7, 2010 at 9:54 pm

I really do rejoice in Chia’s efforts and courage in learning something new that he is really unfamiliar with for the sake of the Dharma. It is not easy at all for someone who is not familiar with computers to learn it in such a short time but once again Chia showed us all that for the sake of Dharma he is willing to learn something new even though it is a very steep learning curve.
Chia is one of Rinpoche’s oldest students. and has been around since 1992. Despite the time that he has stuck on with Rinpoche, he is still keen to learn something new and not just sit back and feel that he does not need to do anything. It is really inspiring to see someone who still pushes himself, and for me to keep pushing and finding a way until I am able to achieve more and more….

  39. Sandy Clarke on Jul 8, 2010 at 6:32 am

This is something I can relate to! For someone who’s worked as a journalist and press officer, I HATE technology haha. For example, my phone is nearly the same age as me, I still think touch-screens are the work of the devil, and I have a genuine bemusement as to why people don’t handwrite letters as much now. Also, things like Skype and MSN are like new inventions to me! So I can empathise in a way with Chia, and at the same time totally admire his commitment to learn and get over his fears as part of his devotion to Rinpoche. Anyone can say nice words, but actions definitely speak louder, and it’s also great that Chia’s now able to access so much more information that will be of benefit to him, and that he can use to benefit many others.
Chia, sir, you are a shining example of dedication and commitment.
    Kind regards,
    Sandy

Bravo Chia, I’m happy and glad for you, as you face your fear and take up the challenge in learning using computer and also Internet. As Rinpoche said, Internet worlds is a good place to spread Dharma, and its allow people around the world to connect together to learn and get more information, plus is free, why not we make full use of it. I’m proud of you of take up this difficult task and help Rinpoche in spreading his wonderful teachings and also wonderful words to people around the world.
Chia, you dance very well, don’t worry too much, as you are in the team of Wonder Girls, I always believe we will delivered the best performance in the Kechara Charity Dinner Night. I’m happy to know you as my dharma brother for so many years, as you have teach me a lot of things. Go Go Chia.

  41. Beng Kooi on Jul 8, 2010 at 7:33 pm

People like Chia and Anila pushing themselves and going all out to learn a new skill should be taken as an example for all. It is not too late to overcome laziness and fear. It is not too late to change one’s stubbornness and resistance to technology. It is not too late to trust the Guru’s advice 100% and go with the flow all the way.
Those reading this post may think “Whats the big deal about posting comments online? Its easy!” It may be easy for you but not for them. Apply the same to yourself but with something that you personally find difficult or that you dislike eg speaking in public, doing menial work, raising funds…. And you will perhaps start to understand why Chia and Anila’s sincere efforts to promote Rinpoche online are being celebrated by those who have known and loved them for many years.

  42. Wan Wai Meng on Jul 8, 2010 at 9:23 pm

Chia is one of Rinpoche’s oldest students and has been resistance to technology a long time. He currently one of the ‘Wanna Be Girls’ come July 18th and I have seen his practice and boy they dance better than some women. The most recent of Rinpoche’s talks highlight our weakness or something makes us fail in this life differs from one life to another, one life can be anger, another life could be jealousy and on. The problem is you have one flaw something that manifest more due to our delusions, that one flaw can lead to other flaws to manifest when the conditions are ripe. Hence you are either enlightened or you are not there is no half way – half enlightened or half deluded for example. If you have one bad point due to delusions you cannot be enlightened.
Back to Chia he has a lot of dharma knowledge from being around Rinpoche so many years, and if he can he will help you all that he can. I appreciate Chia very much!

Nobody, nobody but CHIA! *clap clap, clap clap* :)
It is always admirable and inspiring to see someone who works that extra bit harder, pushes themselves further and confronting whatever fears which comes their way! I have not known Chia for very long nor, very well but at the rate where everyone is petting him on his back for his efforts; I want to join in too! :) Oh!… that photo of you in Wanna Be Girls’ posting?! Simply Fabulous!! Though I do not envy you prancing around on those heels! Break a leg on 18th July… shine like a star that you are! :)

I always remember Chia usually stayed up late struggling to do his assignments with the computer but I believe it’s not a problem for him now. With determination, patience and hardwork, now you have overcome your fear. You really have inspired me here…just like what Jean Mei said..learning the English Language and technology ….. two skills at one go……my confession…..it’s also Two of my greatest fear.I have learned a lot from Chia eg. setting up altars and the proper way to put on Lama Tsongkhapa hat and clothes and explanations to a lot of my dharma questions …. Thank you very much Chia… Love you.!! O…Please remember to put on your contact lens on 18th KWPC dinner, during showtime because last time you said you can’t see well without your glasses….Blur……..

Seeing Chia singing and dancing is quite a sight to be hold , normally at puja or at kp 1utama he is serious about his work , this is a new side or chia that i saw tonight on this post. Chia we all support you all the way , you can do it. COMPUTER ONLY MAH , NO PROBLEM BROTHER ! Seeing chia scratching his head hard and thinking deeply on how to comments on posts is very inspiring.
I hope chia will be able to complete all his posts quota and he will be able to do more and more after that. Chia will become computer savvy very soon ! Everyone go support and cheer for chia when he performs during the charity dinner night ! Brings banner and buntings !

Chia has been with Rinpoche for many many years. He’s one of the senior students in Kechara. He is always there to explain & share dharma. I truly believe Chia loves Rinpoche and Dharma very much that he is willing to learn new things for the sake of Dharma.
For Chia, it is not only a challenge for him to use the internet but also writing comments in english. Chia has come a long way as Rinpoche did mention before that Chia didnt speak much english when he met Rinpoche.
This is the positive influence that Rinpoche has; pushing us to get out of our comfort zone and practice real dharma.
Chia is practising dharma and willing to learn new things to help spread dharma. Thank you Chia for your Guru devotion towards our lama. You are indeed showing us by example that nothing is impossible if we put our mind to it.

Chia is a very good and devoted student of Tsem Rinpoche. He has followed Rinpoche for many years, very loyal.
I personally have known Chia for quite a long time but never keep in touch closely since he was in K.L. and I was in malaka until recently, more than a month ago that I have spent my time in Kechara activities and saw him more often. I noticed that he has changed, he is very hardworking and willing to learn whatever things that he doesn’t know such as how to use the laptop and put comments on Rinpoche’s Blog even though he told me that his English is not good but he tried his best. He is also active in taking part to perform in fundraising project. He really puts all his effort and go all the way for dharma. Chia, I rejoiced !

OH Chia… many years ago when I started my career with KP you were one of the person that I was told I have to be very careful with when you used the computer… haha one button any anything could go missing or the system would hang and go wrong…. It was really funny… But what was in my mind is you are not familiar with the button and you are more comfortable to write on manual books, as you are not comfortable with technology.
The last two years was your most down time as there were many happenings in your life and you just want to be left alone. Which is understandable but it is your devotion that keeps you here although you were so down and being able to over come that I really have to salute you.
You are one of the people that I look upon to for knowledge as you have a lot of experience and now you have turn out to be a great person. You have great ideas and sometimes you just need to share.
Keep the spirit up Chia…. There is more people that need your advice.

Sorry I may be late in my comments as I have just managed to master my new computor. I have known Chia for a long time. In the earlier years when Rinpoche first came to Malaysia Chia and I were one of the first assistants to Rinpoche. I met Chia in Wisdom Centre in Singapore. During one of our conversation I ask him “Will you stick to Rinpoche for a long time” He replied “I dont know”. He dare not commit. But is still here today with Rinpoche. Before joining Rinpoche Chia has been cutting and chopping fishes for cooking dishes in Restaurants. I have seen the bonding relationship Chia has with Rinpoche thru the years I have been with them. Chia did the right thing by supporting Rinpoche thru thick and thin joined by Geraldine later who also has helped Rinpoche a lot. But sadly Geraldine left. When Rinpoche was staying in Kelana Jaya apartment, Chia and Geraldine had to do errands for Rinpoche going by bus and walking across the football field to get home. This went on for awhile but Chia never got discouraged. During the later years many students have come and gone from Rinpoche. Chia is wise and stood by Rinpoche because of his Guru devotion. The results he got by his loyalty, love etc for Rinpoche is Dharma knowledge and his transformation from an old age Chia into new age with technology. Which at my Pyramid age I am also trying very hard to master. You see I must also keep up with the new age Dharma which`Rinpoche is trying to get us into irrespective of whether you are young old. my last comment on you Chia. You are like a beautiful lotus grown from a muddy and dirty pond being purified from the long years of Dharma training by Rinpoche. Congratulation Chia

Chia has come a long way from a Muar kampung boy to learning how to use a computer.I have known Chia for a very long time and though he may be stubborn and cant keep himself awake, yet he has good dharma knowledge. Chia can give very good and detailed explanations on the iconography of buddhas statues, setting up altars, setting up for pujas and the list goes on and on. Chia is a very devoted and loyal student and he stood by Rinpoche through ups and downs. There were many things that he feared to do, but through Rinpoche’s compassion and patience, he was pushed to overcome his fears. Now not only is Chia good at dharma and computer but he is good at dancing too. Well done, Chia, the Wanna Be Girl!!!!!

Chia is no different from anyone of us who dont savvy with computers, or is afraid of anything to do with internet technology. But being a longtime loyal and dedicated student of Rinpoche, chia was inspired by him to go all the way to transform himself from a non-savvy internet type to one who can today visit, read and post comments on rinpoche’s blog post. With the encouragement and support from our compassionate guru, I have also taken up steps to follow chia’s example. Presently, I am able to do some reading on Rinpoche’s blog and able to make some comments on them. Hopefully one day to be able to do better than what chia can do. For the sake of doing dharma to benefit people, our generous guru however will walk the mile to help people with no personal agenda. As our Guru had said “there’s a lot of people afraid of technology, but nothing to be afraid of…..like everything in life, if you learn it up well with a good motivation, you can use it to benefit many people. Benefit is the KEY”. For all the sentient beings you hve saved and are still saving, with folded hands, dear Rinpoche, I thank you.

Willow Creek is the exact type of town I would love to live in…trees, mountains, rivers.l would set up a house there, big altar, butterlamp house and make lots of offerings and do retreats there and lots of dharma readings. Having bigfoot nearby is just an extra treat. But I wouldn’t move therer for bigfoot-I like the environment..In Tibet Domo Geshe Rinpoche use to meditate in secluded caves and when he gained attainments, Yetis which is Himalayan bigfoots visited him giving him special milk where he made healing pills that were so powerful even the 13th Dalai Lama and Panchen Lamas wanted those pills. Domo Geshe was famous to have association with yetis and they never harmed him, but would drop milk off at his cave and go…I would love to live at Willow Creek so much. I love places like this. If I didn’t have Kechara, I would move there immediately and live there. But I will visit for sure. Will take a group with me. I want to go very much!! Willow Creek is a town in Northern California. This town has the most reported cases of bigfoot sightings. From Willow Creek you go to Bluff Creek where the most famous Patterson-Gimlin film of a genuine bigfoot was walking back in the 60′s was filmed…it is the most famous footage that no one can debunk till today….Willow Creek is so green, full of mountains and beautiful rivers. I will definitely take a group with me and visit one day..I love forests and Northern California..so beautiful.. I don’t want to look for bigfoot, but the whole town is a total mecca for bigfoot enthusiasts with shops and small museums. I would like to go to just enjoy the scenery, the mountains and forests. And see the bigfoot scene.. I would love to live there for sure. Who wants to go with me?? Dear friends, This is a well made Paranormal real life story. Nothing scary in this episode, but very powerful show of love and willpower. I want you to please watch this carefully and see how a mother reaches out to save her child. Her will was so strong she left her body. The child saw a light leaving the mother and going to the road although she died and 'found' people to save her child. Very touching and beautiful story. This is what I believe happened, what do you think? http://blog.tsemtulku.com/?p=31937

I knew of a lady who when she went to bed at night, she would feel unseen hands touch her body and disturb her sleep. This happened many times. She sought help from many places without relief. When she saw me, I gave her Singdongma. She invited a statue home, set up a shrine for Her and did Singdongma's mantra/prayer daily. The unseen hands stopped disturbing her & this was ten years ago. She does her prayer daily to Singongma till now: http://blog.tsemtulku.com/?p=31904

Dear all, every week I am informed of a death and to offer prayers. This week I was informed of four deaths. With death, everything is almost final and if we didn't do dharma genuinely, we would have regrets. Death is such a omnipresent and frightening stalker. Realize it will come for you one day soon and go all the way with dharma, dharma practice, dharma work and gain realizations. At death, the dharma you have is the only hope. Anything else acquired in life is a total waste of time. Please realize and wake up. Don't procrastinate and keep yourself 'busy' with activities that are empty at the time of death. Our minds will continue at death and what supports that journey is our good merits and attainments collected during our lives. Tsem Rinpoche

Dear Rinpoche, Bryan and I do so much less than what Rinpoche does. When people are asleep Rinpoche's working, when people are awake Rinpoche's working. Not many people in Kechara realize that Rinpoche works the hardest in the entire organization. I didn't know before joining Ladrang. Although Rinpoche may want to go around to pray for people in need, one day I want to able to do this instead of Rinpoche. It is quite taxing and Rinpoche can't be going out of Haven 24 hours to pray for the dying/dead. I'm happy Pastor Yek Yee and Pastor Susan wanted to come today, they really are awesome Pastors. Thank you, Jean Mei

Dear TR,  We have just collected Tashi's ashes. Our Nirvana agent who named May is a very nice lady, she is in her 40+, she is a Buddhist and a Mandarin speaker. She follow us thru out the whole session. May also bought us drinks and settle everything for us.  I have share with her about KH, TR and some other departments we have in Kechara. She is interested in KH. I will arrange with her to come and visit KH and various departments soon. The couple is sending us back home and we will go and get a stupa for Tashi's ashes. Have asked them to go back and rest after this. From Bryan

Dear all,  It's 9:30 AM. I just walked into the house after being in the hospital and then going to finish a funeral for a baby of a student. I have just conducted two funerals in the last 24 hours. The second funeral was for a baby. I had Jean Mei, Bryan, Seng Piow, Pastor Susan, Pastor Yekyee, Lew with me. Pastor Susan and Yekyee really wanted to come and learn. I am glad they made the effort.  We conducted a simple funeral by reciting holy verses, sprinkling holy water onto the baby, protector rice and scattered blessed fresh rose petals all over the baby. Afterwards I had a nice conversation about the baby's mind taking rebirth. Upon leaving the father and father's mother gave me a very warm hug of thanks and support during this most saddest of times for them...and the wife was happy and looked visibly relieved. She let go alot and let go of her guilt after we talked.. I have sent Bryan and Jean Mei with the family to cremate the baby this morning at 11AM It will take two hours and then we can bring the ashes home. Part of the ashes will be in a large stupa. All of us are extremely exhausted but did very good work. That is what Kechara is about. I am very happy we can help the baby and family along their way. When they called, they sounded extremely desperate as it was very late with no one to help them. We were very honoured to help them. I didn't call Pastor Yekyee and Pastor Susan heard, they immediately wanted to join me. Now with no sleep after baby Tashi's funeral, they went to Kechara to give dharma classes. I am proud of them and my assistants who wanted to help all last night until this morning. It is wonderful to give it all we can for others. That is what Kechara is about. Tsem Rinpoche

Dear TR,

I have received some update from Gaden regarding Justin Ripley's ashes.

Monastery have done a whole day of Vajrayogini Daju and Ruchok this Sunday, this is for Rinpoche's previous life and current life students who passed away recently: Geshe Ngawang and Justin Ripley.

Monastery is now in the middle making Tsa Tsa out from Geshe Ngawang's ashes. After they finish, monastery start to make Tsa Tsa out from Justin's ashes.

Monastery will use Justin's ashes and make a few different type of Tsa Tsa:

1) Chenrezig, Manjushri and Vajrapani Tsa Tsa

2) White Tara, Amitayus and Nagyalma Tsa Tsa

3) small stupa Tsa Tsa

I have asked monastery to mail us few Tsa Tsa after finish, this will be place inside KFR big VY stupa.

Thanks
Bryan (Justin Ripley's ashes has been made into holy Buddha tsatsas {as in picture} to gain more merits for him). We love Justin.

When we trust, practice and go all the way with the tantric path of Vajra Yogini, we have nothing to worry about. All the worries both worldly and spiritual will be solved. We should surrender to Vajra Yogini's blessing by being our best. We just set up this wonderful statue of Buddha Vajra Yogini in our library area. How beautiful She is. Buddha Vajra Yogini is special deity for those overwhelmed by laziness, miserliness and want easy practice but big results. May all of you be blessed to see Her holy image. Kechara Discovery Dept of our orgazination does such wonderful images available for the public. I am very happy as She is beautiful. Thank You Kechara Discovery! Tsem Rinpoche

When I first arrived in Malaysia in 1992 I had a group of people who would sponsor my tickets, stay and for many years sponsor much needed help in Gaden. One of them was Ms Mooi Lan who lives in Cheras. She has been a great supporter for the last 20 years and in the past sponsor. I recieved very sad news she passed away this morning at 4Am. I request all my students to please light a candle for her to take good rebirth and come across the dharma again. Offer the candle to Buddha Dukkar..that is the Buddha I assigned to her many years ago and she diligently practiced and set up a shrine to Dukkar.. I will miss her and never forget her kindness. Many of the things I wanted to do in the past she generously helped. Tsem Rinpoche ( see here http://blog.tsemtulku.com/?p=4354 )

Heruka! We say we want to improve yet we don't hold our vows. We promise to keep our samaya, yet our promise to our earlier promises laxed. We want to experience only good results yet we hold onto our face. We want wealth, yet we give nothing. We want success, yet we offer tiny offerings to the Three Jewels. We say we have great faith in our Guru, yet when his assignments are difficult we run. We say we want a good rebirth yet all our actions are motivated by self gain. Heruka, Heruka, Heruka, how are we to recieve your blessings when our three doors are closed tightly by selfishness, ignorance and anger?~Tsem Rinpoche

I haven't lived in Gaden since 1992 when I was sent to Malaysia. I love Gaden and loved so much living there. I like so many things about Gaden. Conversations would not be lonely and easy. Whatever I talk about the monks immediately understand. I do not have to face 'opposition' , doubts, hundreds of questions, and every detail simple about the dharma or dharma work has to be explained. I miss that so much. I am not lonely for company, but I am lonely for familiarity very much. I was very content, at peace and in my element in Gaden. I never knew or imagined I would have to go to Malaysia, stay and take on heavy responsibilities. I am not complaining but I love Gaden, the monks, my teachers, the great masters, the senior monks whom I have many friends. I miss them so much. So so much. I love and respect the great old monks, Rinpoches and spectacular Geshes. Gaden was a city of practitioners and I was home. Lord Tsongkapa's presence pervades the whole Gaden. TR

Dear all, I gave a talk on desire to a few inclusive of Paris and David. I asked David and Paris to write up the talk on their blogs. My plan was after they write it, I'll link it to my blog. From my blog people will click to their blog to read the write up and benefit many who read the talk. Paris did a very good write up and did not miss the subtle points I was expressing that night. She really took the time and effort to write it...I was happy to see she wrote exaclty as I expressed. Effort pays off usually or eventually. I am happy to see there are 669 views (43 comments) already going back to Paris' blog to read the teachings. The teachings will be benfit many. Must save and read again and again. Must share with others...Must contemplate. You want dharma, I am giving it to you and Paris wrote it out perfectly. Bryan gave me an incredible MOTHER'S DAY GIFT. It is so auspicious. He had someone draw HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche's sacred face onto the body of Buddha Vajradharma. Buddha Vajradharma is the form Buddha takes to teach the immaculate and fautless tantra of Vajra Yogini. In Vajra Yogini's tantra and meditations, you must visualize your guru in the form of Vajradharma to make offerings both inner, outer & secret offerings daily to one's tantric guru & to meditate on Him in that form. It is very integral part of the practice. If you do the meditations well on your guru in this particular form during the practice of the sadhana..you can gain tremendous realizations and control over one's mind to leave the body when you want. So getting this picture today was an omen if Kecharians fulfill their responsibilities, then Vajra Yogini's practice will spread in this region. Very good omen. I feel this strongly. Bryan really planned out this gift & surprised me!! I will put in Chamang Ladrang in the future. THANK YOU BRYAN!!TR

Back in New Jersey over 30 years ago, there lived a lady down the street who was also a student of my teacher. Her name is Carmen (she is a nun now and her ordination name is: Ani Thupten). She had a nice size library of books and many dharma books. I loved the Dharma books!! I would spend so much time browsing and getting snippets of each book from Carmen. I use to ride by bike down to chat with her and borrow her books and it took me like 5 mins by bike..She lived on the same street. I would read dharma books voraciously and write down my questions. I would call Carmen almost daily for years to ask her to clarify the readings I had questions on. She would spend hours on a phone with me answering questions never once losing patience. I learned so much from her. She had vast dharma knowledge, very devoted to our teacher and would do her meditations and extensive sadhanas daily. She would join in all the dharma classes and pujas at our nearby Kalmuck Buddhist Temple. She was such a good dharma friend and I enjoyed her company very much. I wanted to be like her to have the freedom to study and practice dharma. When I recievd my first initiation by our teacher at the temple, Carmen sat right next to me on the front row. Thrilling!! After initiation we would have ten days of explanations (commentary) from our teacher His Eminence Kensur Losang Tharchin Rinpoche. I was so excited and deeply happy to get commentary from our great and knowledgable teacher. What I did not understand, I would of course consult Carmen who is much more advanced and taught me patiently after each day’s teachings. Around 15 years ago Carmen came to India and I travelled with her to holy Bodhgaya, Varanasi and Dharamsala. I escorted her to these places. Since then I have not met up with her. But I know she is fine. Around two years back I sent her a three foot Vajra Yogini statue as a gift from me. Carmen received the statue and was very happy. It was my offering to her for so much kindness shown me when I was a child. I wish so much she can visit Malaysia. She would be happy. We all want to be a part of something big and with good results. But the only way we can be a part of that is if we work hard together with the other members of our Kechara. The time will pass. It can pass with you taking on difficulties or it can pass with you doing nothing. I feel it's better to work hard now and enjoy later than to enjoy nothing now and then end up nowhere later. Prayers and dedications are ok, but hard work must be part of the prayer. Tsem Rinpoche

His Holiness the Dalai Lama seated here with His sacred mother. A mother who gives birth to great beings like Shakyamuni, Tsongkapa, Dalai Lama, Panchen Lama, Trijang Rinpoche, etc must be a Buddha Herself, a highly realized Dakini, a powerful practitioner, or a lady who made prayers in previous lives to provide others with great dharma in one way or another. A lady of great spiritual merit or virtue.. I wanted to share this photo with you because if I ever met His Holiness' mother, I would prostrate to Her immediately. Beautiful picture. His Holiness is not ordinary for sure and neither could a being who gave birth to Him. Tibetans always said she was very saintly, gentle, simple and deeply spiritual. During Her lifetime many went to recieve Her blessings..Tsem Rinpoche

It's very revealing how when you give, offer and have something for them, they crowd around smiling, happy and easy. The minute you ask them to give something, contribute or really help out, they totally disappear. Handphones shut. No replies. No sound. As if you they never knew you. People like that make themselves 2nd rate, find 1st rate people to work with and move on. Recently I encountered some students like that!~ Tsem Rinpoche

Last night between 300-400 persons congregated at Kechara while I gave a talk to them on 'making a choice' and 'the power and purpose of stupas'. The talk has been taped and will be blogged once tape is ready. The talk was two hours and it flowed well for me although I had very little sleep. Towards the end of the talk I gave refuge vows to 100 new persons from different countries for this. When everything was done, I met up with a group of 15 and 5 from Shanghai. Had a nice dharma talk with them on how to make a centre grow and harmony. Passed out nice dharma gifts to all the visitors so they don't go home empty handed. Also seperately met some directors and movie producers that attended the talk and sought private time with me..these producers and directors are very well known locally. One is from Hong Hong. Got home around 5Am and saw so many gifts from people. Did a Manjushri dedication for all the people who offered gifts to me on Wesak day in gratitude. Also some people from Europe called in to Kechara to arrange flowers to be given to me last night. That was very sweet. I have so many flowers now..over 70 bouquets I would...guess. They have all been offered up on the shrine. Thank you. TR (May 5, 2012)

Karma exists and created constantly by our actions. Karma created in the past is fertile and will open up when the situation arises. We should never relax and think everything will be alright when there is so much volatile latent karma like a huge volcano temporarily dormant. We can do something about it though. If we always do not understand Dharma, then that is a sign of not studying. If we always blame Dharma, it is a sign we do not know what dharma really is. If we always expect of the Dharma, then we are using Dharma in ineffective methods. If we find Dharma difficult, then it is because we are unwilling to accept it. If we give up the Dharma, we are get deeper into our sufferings without respite. If we complain about Dharma it is a sign we are looking for blame in the wrong places and not within ourselves.~Tsem Rinpoche

Dear TR,
SO FANTASTIC! Me staring at rainbow. Love dm
****(April 22, 2012-Sunday-Kechara is very lucky. Many times when we are about to embark on something really beneficial or just finished something very good, we will often times witness a rainbow and there is no rain or clouds.Today again at KECHARA FOREST RETREAT after they finished their work in the evening another clear rainbow appeared in the clear sky reported to me by Datuk May and ten other Kecharians volunteering there today. See the beautiful picture of the rainbow...TR)

I prostrate to my Guru the consummate Lojong master who teaches us how to laugh at death by creating right causes n how to regret n cry at death by doing stupid things. Exciting indeed that we can do either.
I rather die w natural smile than a fake one made up by the embalmers.
Thank you for reminding we hv choice.
Gratefully yours

Death is exciting. It's when all the thìngs we did COME BACK TO US. And we can't sweet talk or seduce our way out. We have to face what we have done. Very exciting to see what's going to happen to us! Hello death, give me what I deserve!! Tsem Rinpoche
