   In Tibetan Lokeshvara is also Chenrezig and in the Chinese Mahayana is called Kuan Yin. She is the Buddha of Compassion. According to Tibetan Buddhism H,H.Dalal Lama is the emanation of Lokeshvara. I started my real Buddhist practice with the mantra of OM MANI PADME HUM of which surprisingly was taught in a Chinese Mahayana Kuan Yin Dharma centre. This centre only focus on the practice of Kuan Yin. During my 20 years in the centre many Lamas and Gurus came. Then came Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and I was connected to him karmically and now I am in KH with Tsem Rinpoche as my Guru. I guess must be Lokeshvara that brought me here.

   I get charged up with a giddy feeling whenever I see really nice pictures of His Holiness such as this WONDERFUL picture here. I feel a jolt go through me.

   Perhaps my subtle mind is acknowledging his enlightened state? Or perhaps I am OVER analyzing stuff again? Sleepy timee.

   May His Holiness Dalai Lama’s compassionate wisdom and teachings reach all corners of the earth and benefit all beings. Om Mani Padme Hung.

   There is a Arya Lokeshvara Chapel at Lhasa which is ranked no 8 of the 92 things to do and see in Tibet by Lonely Planet. Here is the description from Lonely Planet “Allegedly this is one of the few corners of the Potala that dates from the time of Songtsen Gampo’s 7th-century palace. It is the most sacred of the Potala’s chapels, and the image of Arya Lokeshvara inside is the most revered image housed in the Potala. The statue is accompanied on the left by the seventh Dalai Lama and Tsongkhapa, and on the right by the fifth, eighth and ninth Dalai Lamas and the protector Chana Dorje (Vajrapani). Relics include stone footprints of Guru Rinpoche and Tsongkhapa.”
   May i have the merit to visit the Arya Lokeshvara Chapel one day.

   The depth of knowledge of His Holiness is so vast I’ve been reading the little booklet on the 4 noble truths. It is short but explains so much in so much depth he is truly an amazing being of our times

   Most of us before becoming a Buddhist will recognise who Kuan Yin or Lokeshvara is because she is universal. To the Tibetan Buddhists she is perceived as a male. And to the Chinese School of Buddhism she is known to be a female. And as a Spiritual being in Lokshvara there is no difference in the male or female gender. The reason why the Chinese considers Lokshvara as a female is that, in the Chinese culture in China when a girl is married to a family especially a rich family she is suppose to produce a son. This is to enable the surname lineage to be passed down. For this reason all Chinese maidens will pray to Kuan Yin mother to grant them sons. As sons are the beneficiaries of all the wealth in the families. The mantra to chant in the Chinese School of Buddhism is NAMO KUAN SHIH YIN POH SATT and in Tibetan is OM MANI PADME HUM`
