Hope House and Duke…help them….please.
Met Duke online who works at Hope House( http://www.thehopehouse.com/ ) decided to make a small donation towards their wish list. Duke's in the pictures.
Duke is a Buddhist working there. He voluntarily quit his good job a few years back to do this work full time. Fantastic. So serve the poorest of the poor. I love this.
He decided to connect with the poor by living their simple life. If you go on their website you can see more details. You can call them too.
I had the honor and priviledge to donate small amount to them and Duke is super fast because he went out and got all these things with the money I sent and emailed me the picture. Thanks alot Duke. I appreciate the photos.
As you can see most of the items in the photo are basic items like cleaners, shavers, toilet paper, etc they need always in Hope House. C'mon everyone, donate to them so every month they can have these basic living needs and dedicate the merits to your loved ones. It's not alot of money.
I wish Hope House further success and I am so thrilled with the work you are doing.
Much prayers and good wishes,

Thank you Rinpoche
I really admire people like Duke with the drive, energy, and determination to really make a difference for others… If I can help in a small way, then I am more than happy to
What an inspiring story, imagine a world where everyone looks out for everyone else! I think we need to start with ourselves, even if its just something as simple as noticing the person serving us at a shop or being a bit more patient in traffic.
I know Rinpoche has a big heart for the needy, no matter how near or far they are. If and when Rinpoche hears or gets to know about it, Rinpoche will definitely extend his help in any way.
Like Duke, Rinpoche sees the need to help in a very long term manner. On one end, Rinpoche’s care and concern for the needy will see to it that Rinpoche can make the person’s life better from their current situation. On the longer and bigger end, Rinpoche wants to help more and more people to be totally free from their poverty and suffering by creating the causes to be able to do so by setting up a permanent department such as Kechara Soup Kitchen.
It both physically serves as a place for these people to seek temporary refuge in and on the long term take refuge in hope for their lives.
Let’s contribute towards this cause by getting involved with KSK today!

Superb altruism! It came from genuine love and kindness in helping those who really need it and actually turning it into a practice. How many of us out there can give up their high paying jobs, comfortable life and volunteer to help the needy?
Look at Kechara Soup Kitchen (http://www.kechara.com/soup-kitchen/), every weekend volunteers show up to help pack and distribute food and drinks to the homeless all over Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. Not to mention in Penang as well after Patsy Gooi, a very long time student of Rinpoche suggested to Rinpoche about having a Soup Kitchen. On weekends, Patsy and her family would buy the necessities to give out to the homeless there.
If you or anyone would like to help the needy, come and visit us on the 18th July, 5pm at Sunay Resort Hotel’s Grand Ballroom (http://kechara.com/cn/dinnerauction/).
Just like the tag line “Hunger Knows No Barriers” at KSK. Generosity, kindness and compassion also “Know No Barriers”. These qualities are innate in us. We all need love and happiness. But where does love and happiness come from?
It comes when others showered us with care, kindness and generosity. They have no borders in the world that say these qualities cannot be extended over the border, across race, across religion. Duke epitome all these qualities Instead of thinking of his own needs, he benefited others instead. He is a jewel in this rat race society that always chase for wealth, power and position.
Hope House reminds me a great deal of KSK. In the past, I cannot imagine how one would give up their jobs to serve the poor or any NGO. I’d be thinking of how they would be supporting themselves if they do not even have a job.
I did not realize that many people would sacrifice lower paying jobs, or bare minimum pay, and many other life’s luxuries or comforts to serve the less fortunate. It was something that I could not imagine myself to do. I guess that is how the majority of the population thinks. They can’t imagine giving up anything for someone else, so they deem such a selfless act as insane or foolish.
I have seen how KSK have changed lives and even saved lives since 2006. I have seen how other NGOs make a huge impact in their community every single day. Though I have not seen Hope House in action, but I am sure with such dedicated people like Duke, hope does come alive and help many lives.
For sure, we will never hear of any self-absorbed, self-serving people making a difference anywhere!
At the end of the day it is those who have gone beyond their own comfort zones who make the biggest difference in our society, our community. They are the real every day heroes.
