Another Kechara Vegetarian Restaurant Opens (Viva Mall)

When I first requested Liaison Irene Lim, who is one of my oldest students and a friend for 19 years now, to open up a Vegetarian restaurant for Kechara, Irene took this assignment and went all the way with it. Irene had no hesitation to start a restaurant for us….. She first opened Kechara Oasis in 2009 at Jaya One, Petaling Jaya. And now it has expanded to our second restaurant, much bigger and grander venue in Viva Home, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. We have two Kechara restaurants now and also two Kechara Food stalls. In total of four places serving vegetarian food.

As you all know, I am very passionate about animals and have adopted the vegetarian lifestyle. Kechara Oasis is another platform to spread compassion towards animals and this should start with our very own stomachs… We simply cannot say we want an Animal Sanctuary to manifest and yet we continue slaughtering them through the food we eat, just to satisfy our taste buds. So Kechara Oasis allows us to still satisfy our taste buds but minus the killing!

How wonderful it is that through Kechara Oasis, many people are now enjoying vegetarian food, and each day that one person chooses a vegetarian meal, that is one person not eating meat for one meal a day.  There are about 50 tables in Kechara Oasis Viva Home (KOVH), so with every celebration here in KOVH, say 50 tables each time, we are saving the lives of 50 suckling piglets, fishes, chickens, etc. When you multiply that everyday for a year, it means that many cows, chickens and fish are saved from the awful slaughter houses! In Kechara Oasis, you become a viable partner in the effort to alleviate the suffering in the world. The lesser the demand, the lesser the supply is how I see it. In time this will reduce the millions of lives taken away to satisfy the human greed and also global warming… I hope.

Kechara Oasis Viva Home (KOVH) at Jalan Loke Yew, is strategically located at the edge of Kuala Lumpur which is within 10 minutes’ drive from the ‘Golden Triangle’. It has excellent accessibility to densely populated surrounding surburbs of both established and new residential townships.

Kechara Oasis Viva Home bring vegetarian dining to a whole new level… the theme and deco for the KOVH is a celebration of vivid colours with contemporary lighting. It is 11,446 square feet with a 50-table dining ballroom for weddings and events as well as 5 individual private rooms. It includes a star-studded stage with a lighted runway for a grand entrance. There is also a terrace for casual dining and a Japanese tatami dining area with Tibetan feel. Each room and dining area has a different feel and a character of its own. This is the first ever 5-star vegetarian dining venue in Malaysia. I am so impressed with it myself! Irene’s trust in me by taking Kechara Oasis all the way has certainly made my work and vision manifest in this Kechara Oasis. I thank Irene and  applaud her commitment, tenacity and steadfastness in making my vision a dream come true.

 KOVH launched their  most exciting Dim Sum menu on the 1st May. So far, clientele is on the increase every week since they had our first soft opening on 15th April 2011.

The grand entrance fit for a glamorous wedding celebration…Many weddings are being booked here now. More and more young couples wishes to serve guests delicious vegetarian food to celebrate their wedding day. I am so proud that our Kechara has this beautiful restaurant.
