A Precious Vajrayogini for Someone Special
Recently, the Ladrang team prepared a beautiful 17″ Vajra Yogini statue as a surprise gift for a certain someone who has committed to doing Dharma all the way… In addition to the statue, there was also a wooden cabinet with bells on the door! I found the special cabinet in a Indian altar shop….it was close to what I was looking for.
On April 26 2011, Beng Kooi, James and Carmen went to Kechara Media & Publications (KMP) to surprise the team with the Vajra Yogini statue. Everyone was in awe of her beauty and were all very excited to have her there. They set up the cabinet in the Chinese editorial office and invited Vajra Yogini in, without telling anyone who it was for… hehe.
The very next day, KMP had their departmental lunch at the Ming Room in Bangsar Shopping Complex. I thought that it was the perfect time to announce who the special gift was for. So Beng Kooi went over and presented a card on my behalf to this special person… and it was for none other than DR. LANSE! She was speechless and yet excited by the gift. I was told that she was shocked, touched and very grateful. Dr. Lanse doesn’t like to be in the limelight, so she was shy.
Dr. Lanse has shown genuine care and concern for others and always gets things done quietly despite her busy schedule. She is committed, humble and responsible… she sticks to her words, and is self-motivated. All the work that I need of her, Dr. Lanse would get it done without complaints. I know that she has a lot of other things to do for KMP but she still gets it done. It is very nice to work with people who don’t need to be pushed or reminded, and doesn’t complain. Dr. Lanse has come such a long way since she first joined. I really wanted to give her the Vajra Yogini statue. She has committed more and more since she first joined.
I wanted to gift her with this sacred Vajra Yogini. I wanted her to focus her prayers, offerings, meditations, prostrations, and energy towards this Vajra Yogini image. Why? Well in life we get this, we lose this…we are happy, we are unhappy, we want this, we don’t want this, we fear this and we crave that. It never ends. Our minds jump from one thing to another till our bodies do not allow us to jump anymore. In the end, whatever we have acquired material will be lost, given away or left behind. The hard work in material items will belong to someone else eventually, yet we spend so much energy into it… If we focus our energies on dharma/Vajra Yogini, then we will have no regrets…difficulties will be easy to accept, and triumphs will be enjoyed but not create attachments. Attachments to what we cannot keep is a major cause to our problems…really it is. Countless thousands of great people have meditated and practiced Vajra Yogini in the last 2,500 years and gain great accomplishments through this sacred system taught by Buddha originally. And I would very much like people here to practice Vajra Yogini all the way. Not only practice, but also accomplish it and finally share it with others in the future as qualified practitioners/teachers. I would like everyone to acquire a image of Vajra Yogini and do the preliminaries towards her to prepare for future intense practice. What a wonderful way to spend our lives by practicing Vajra Yogini and gaining spiritual accomplishments that can never be taken away and be with us life after life.
Vajra Yogini is a very powerful set of meditations given to students who have trained in order to overcome strong desire, projections and attachments. Vajra Yogini’s practice will trasmute our ordinary attached, unhappy, ignorant energy into that of a person who can bring tremendous benefit to others. I would like Dr Lanse and all my friends to have Vajra Yogini’s sacred practice when it’s time and with great humility, stability, to practice to gain complete transformation. Transformation of our inner and outer realities. Transformation of our destinies. Then share Vajra Yogini with others from great compassion and care. The greatest gift we can ever give another is Vajra Yogini.
There are many people in Kechara that have been working well and have come a long way. The more we do for dharma in Kechara, the closer we get to Vajra Yogini’s practice.
Dr Lanse is a very good example of someone working in the Dharma. Keep inspiring others, Dr Lanse!

Some of my Ladrang staff went to KMP to set up the Vajrayogini altar. Here, James is offering a five-color khata to Vajrayogini.
Dr Lanse admiring Vajrayogini, not realising it was going to be hers!
Vajrayogini up close.
You can see the puja bells on the cabinet doors…

My message to Dr Lanse

Rejoice!! What a great gift!
Such a precious & inspiring gift! Such a gift (or blessing) would really motivate one towards the Ultimate on the Vajra Yogini Path.
I recently discovered the Tsem Tulku Rinpoche site and have found myself drawn back several times now; in search of Vajra Yogini and ways of improving myself and my practice. Living in Japan has given me inspiration to seek Dakini as She is revered here. Thanks for sharing all the beautiful stories, info. and images.
This card with Jamgon Lama Tsongkhapa and Vajrayogini and Setrap is beautiful! Where can I get one like this? thanks
