Flying Vajra Yogini
I have a wonderful Lady Student named Datuk May. She is a kind and warm person. Very helpful and very devoted.
When I opened my Kathmandu Tsem Ladrang last year in Nepal, Datuk May presented me with this SPECTACULAR FLYING VAJRA YOGINI. It was a house warming gift. Well the gift was special, but her warm heart was really the gift. I enjoy working with Datuk May as she is one of the Liaisons here.
This image is 27 inches high by 22 inches in width. It is a very rare form of Vajra Yogini where She’s in the pose of FLYING OVER SAMSARA TOWARDS MAHAMUDRA EMPTINESS.
I have Her here with me and I so much love this flying Vajra Yogini.
Now I have posted Her up here so everyone may have blessed audience with the Lady Vajra Yogini.
May Datuk and all of us fly to Mahamudra.
Much Humility and thanks,
Tsem Tulku

This is the MOST beautiful flying Vajrayogini I’ve ever seen!!!!
yes, i like this flying VY very much. Vajrayogini is a very special femala deity, she is beautiful and unique. Everytime when i saw this statue, i always make a prayer, may i get one!!hehe…The dream can come true one day, i believe.
Datuk offered this Flying Yogini to Rinpoche shortly after our pilgrimage to Nepal in 2008. A few of us were invited to extend our stay by a few days/weeks/months as Rinpoche had wanted to spend more time in Nepal doing retreat and pujas.
We found this Flying Yogini in a store in Durbar Marg, and Rinpoche commented it was the best image of Vajrayogini that he had EVER seen. And Datuk, the generous and kind lady that she is, offered it to Rinpoche that evening itself.
We had already seen images of flying Vajrayogini during our pilgramage, specifically at the chapels in patan and Vijaswari. And I have always liked this particular form of Vajrayogini the best, probably because my first ever gift from Rinpoche was a Nepalese-made pendant of flying Vajrayogini! I loved that pendant from the moment I saw it – I don’t know why exactly, but I felt that she could take me to a special place very quickly.
The flying Vajrayogini reminds me of when my mother was in Nepal and Rinpoche was here in Malaysia. My mother came across a flying Vajrayogini statue but wasn’t able to invite her home in time, and Rinpoche was very disappointed. Ever since then, I’m reminded of that incident every time I see a flying Vajrayogini because my mum was quite cross with herself for disappointing Rinpoche, and I remember Rinpoche saying statues of this form are quite rare.
But this! THIS statue IS very beautiful! And so incredibly fragile as well, that Su Ming had to carry her home by hand. She looks like she’s been plucked right out of one of the chapels in Nepal, and set into the rest of the carving!
What an incredibly beautiful statue indeed! Thank you Rinpoche for continually sharing with us what seems to be but a simple blog. Let us be reminded though that it is not merely a simple posting as surely Rinpoche has much better use of his time if it were. EVERYTHING Rinpoche does has a higher purpose and I trust this implicitely!
I feel this is put here specifically, in all humility to teach us the wisdom of compassion and the act of appreciation and even on one hand the incredible generosity and devotion of a student to his/her guru. And also very simply to again share what Rinpoche has with us. How else would we be able to even chance upon such a countenance of this remarkable statue? I have not, have you? And for that I am truly thankful for this ‘mere’ post.
Thank you Rinpoche for giving us the opportunity to be blessed by this flying Vajra Yogini. Thank you.
“His omnicient wisdom mind encompasses all that is existent;
His voice is profound teaching, which ornaments the ear of the fortunate pupil;
His body’s beautiful radiance evokes wondrous admiration;
To Lama Tsongkhapa whom merely viewing, or contemplating, earns one great merit. I make prostration. – Gaden Lhagyama (http://tsemtulku.com/resources/prayers/prayers-deity-prayer/je-tsongkhapas-guru-yoga-gaden-lhagyama-2/)
It is so true in applying the above prayer to Mother Vajrayogini. We are all so blessed to be able to see the picture of Mother Vajrayogini, whose statue has been blessed by Rinpoche.
Thank you Rinpoche. Thank you so much.
Note: Earlier on Rinpoche has given dharma teaching on on how Lord Tsongkhapa transform into Mother Vajrayogini. The video of the teaching can be found in the following doclink:-

The above teaching can also be found in the comments section by David Lai and Paris in the blog “Starting On Vajra Yogini Now” http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/2010/06/starting-on-vajra-yogini-now.html
In the blog “Starting On Vajra Yogini Now”, Rinpoche has laid down the steps-by-steps method for one to get ready him/herself prior to receiving the Mother Vajrayogini initiation in the future.

What Rinpoche said about this form of Flying Vajrayogini being rare is true. In my 17 years hanging around with Rinpoche I have not seen a Flying Vajra yogini in statue or picture form. The first time I saw it was a framed picture hung up in the corridor leading to Dzambala Chapel in KH2. The only ones we see are the common ones standing up and stepping on the red Kalarati and black bhairava with her feet. And her hands holding hook knife, skull cup and khatvanga and looking up towards the sky. If I am not in Vajrayana buddhism and have understood the deeper meaning. I would freak out and say it is obscene. So will the other ignorant people out there.
Dearest Tsem Tulku,
thank you very much for posting so many different pictures of Yadjra Yoghini. I love that to see all her aspects and she means so much to me as my own future wife. How could I have ever been without her? What a stae of poverty, as she always was the missing part to my puzzle of fulfillment.
Since I met you you were the most precious and secret teacher to me, you really brought me to the deep mysteries. How can I ever give this back to me?
I owe you the center place in my heart. I dedicate my future vegan path especially to your satisfaction with me. Love, Knut <3

This is a very beautiful Flying Vajrayogini!!! May we be blessed by Her Presence and may we ascend to HER paradise!!!

Wow, this is a really beautiful Vajra Yogini satatue. She looks so compassionate.
Datuk May is a very devoted and generous. She has sponsored a lot of project in Kechara, without her we wouldn’t have a nice Gompa now where we are able to learn Dharma in a very comfortable environment.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the rare Vajra Yogini with us and thank you Datuk May for making things available for us.
