Kagyur Rinpoche sends a letter…thank you!
Dear Beng Kooi,
Thank you very much for your letter and those books of Tsem Rinpoche,
infact i am really happy that Rinpoche still remembers those precious time
in the monastery.
I am really impressed and fortunate to know about all the projects and work
that Kechara is rendering towards social benefits and well being of
humanity. Tsem Rinpoche’s Dharma book is really
impressive, interesting and definitely help the
younger generation in building pure mind and good human being. Please pay my
heartiest congratulation to Rinpoche and all the members of Tsem Ladrang and
Kechara. I deeply thank you all for all the good works and will pray for all
the upcoming future projects.

(The Ladrang sent Kagyur Rinpoche -a friend of mine- our recent KMP books. We humbly offered it to Rinpoche and hence his reply.)
Drepung Kagyur Rinpoche.
We had some good times together. Rinpoche is very intelligent, witty, funny and quick. And you can joke with him and he can take it. I remember all the fun times we had in the monastery.

It puts a smile on my face to think of all those wonderful friendships between Lamas, Rinpoches and Sangha all over the world, just like this friendship between Kagyur Rinpoche and Tsem Rinpoche…. all these emanations of the Buddhas among us, literally hanging out together, having tea.
And these are never ordinary friendships. About 60 of us went on a pilgrimage with Rinpoche in 2006 to Gaden Monastery where most of us saw, for the first time, Rinpoche back in his “spiritual home”. For those of us used to just seeing Rinpoche as Rinpoche, here among all the monster laypeople, it was an extraordinary experience for us to see Rinpoche back in Gaden.
The joyful respect, friendship and humility that we witnessed between Rinpoche, the many high Lamas of Gaden and his fellow monks was a humbling experience. We saw for the first time what it really means to treat a Rinpoche (or indeed any sangha member) with respect and great reverence… which was nothing like what we had done. From old monks in their 70s to the young incarnation of HH Zong Rinpoche – the monks exhibit such a natural, spontaneous respect, kinship, devotion and love for each other. There was much to be learn just from watching them talk to each other!
