The Ladrang team after many weeks of exhaustive search found a beautiful house in the hills of Naranthan in Kathmandu Nepal. It is TSEM LADRANG-NEPAL. They worked hard along with people from other depts who stayed for weeks there to oversee the contractors as they carefully and beautifully renovated the house. It has a nice yard, parking area, guest quarters, nice rooms, butterlamp house, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Kathmandu Valley.

The Ladrang team and students did such an incredible job with the renovations and grounds. I love it so much. When I was there, I was ‘stuck’ there in a pleasant way. I did not want to leave at all. Every morning when I woke up, I was dying to open the windows to see the mountains, and let in the fresh cooling mountain air. Fantastic. I would walk up and down the mountains every evening after dinner for exercise. It took around one hour or so to complete the walk. At the bottom of the hill is a wonderful village market with restaurants, flower sellers, temples, fruit/vegetable shops, pharmacies, etc. The sellers very friendly. It was very pleasant to walk down and up the hill.

Here’s a short video I found on my phone yesterday and decided to post up now after I took the shots last year. It also has footage of me up the hill from the Ladrang looking down onto the Ladrang with a nice vispassana meditation centre nearby. Narathan Ladrang is fantastic.

Enjoy the videos and photos.

This is the beautiful Ladrang. The cover you see on top is for the veranda so not so hot to sit outside. Very nice, very windy and great views.

I’m sitting on the roof of the ladrang enjoying the views. Very nice.

You can see the foreground is our yard and beyond the gate are smaller mountains at sunset in the evenings…..brilliant sunsets.

We are on the mountain behind the Ladrang. We climb to the top and surrounding areas. I would sometimes like to go to higher ground and do my prayers/sadhana.

If you look straight ahead, you see a pointy yellow structure. That is a golden stupa that crowns a Vispassana meditation centre behind Tsem Ladrang here in Narathan.

Here’s the stupa again.

On our property we have built a butterlamp house. Everyday over 700 butterlamps are offered to sacred Vajra Yogini. I have finished offering 100,000 already. Other people have contacted our Ladrang team to want to sponsor doing 100,00o also. Some can’t make it there yet they still want to do it and we arrange. Very nice practice. I love offering butterlamps. This butterlamp house is dedicated to Vajra Yogini. We have one image of Her in here and nothing else.

Myself making offerings to Sacred Vajra Yogini. You can see at the top of the picture is an image of Her.

May everyone be blessed.

I love Tsem Ladrang in Narathan very much.

What a lovely place Rinpoche… Both Thierry and I want so much to be able to build a Tsem Ladrang in the mountains for Rinpoche near KWPC. I know as soon as we are able to afford it we most definitely will as we want Rinpoche to be happy… to be in the mountains, to be able to go onto Rinpoche’s wrap around balcony to take full advantage of the views… feeling the cool breeze and just taking in the fresh air… We truly wish this with all our hearts and I know we can make this happen!

    Much love… Andrew

Tsem Ladrang Nepal is really beautiful. The butterlamp house is also very unique with beautiful butterlamp offered to sacred Vajra Yogini.

Thank you Rinpoche for the beautiful shots of Tsem Ladrang Naranthan, Nepal. It is very, very beautiful. The house you wish for in Colorado is a dream which is waiting to be fulfilled into reality. But this one is real. Very soon you will have Ladrangs all over the world. At the moment you have 2 Ladrangs. One in Kuala Lumpur and one in Nepal. You will find you won’t have any problems going for retreats when you feel you want to have a change of environments or to get away. The surroundings of the Ladrangs in the different countries will not be same but the forest and the mountains will still be there. I can feel Tsem Ladrangs will sprout up very quickly in different countries like the 13 departments in Kechara Oeganisation which have grown so fast.

I had the great fortune and privilege to stay at Tsem Ladrang in April 2009. It was a wonderful experience.

It is as Rinpoche described, surrounded by the magnificent sprawling views of the mountains, the air is cool and welcoming. The house itself sits on a lovely hill top, with a gorgeous garden at the back. The garden is gorgeous to me not because it is huge or immaculately manicured and landscaped, but because it is truly naturally beautiful.

It is not about opulence or grandeur, but one can immediately sense a certain serenity about this whole place. I suspect it is because Rinpoche has spent so many hours here, making prayers, chanting mantras and giving Dharma Talks. It is certainly highly blessed.

My favourite part of the house is really the butter-lamp house. It is tucked all the way in the back, built with bricks. Once you open door, you are greeted by the hundreds of butter-lamps flickering away. An exquisite statue of Varjayogini stands above all the lighted butter lamps. It is a sight not easily forgotten. With the light and shadows dancing on the walls, such is the splendid tribute to Vajrayogini!

Everything is furnished with simplicity but elegantly. Colourful cushions thrown strategically on the earth-toned sofas. An antique looking fire place in the middle of the living room that warms the place during the cold wintery months.

The throne room is especially dignified. Rinpoche’s Throne sits in the middle of the room, flanked by the tables on each side for the students or visitors to sit. Again, warm earth tones with splashes of bright colours from the cushions and thangkas. Another lovely room.

The Ladrang and Liaisons have done a wonderful job.

This is the Tsem Ladrang I remember in Nepal. And I do wish to visit it again. I can totally understand why Rinpoche would miss it.

breathtaking… wow, really wonderful! hope everyone who enjoys this can have such a environ to live in and practise like this…

    Dear Rinpoche,
I have heard from your liaisons how beautiful the ladrang in Nepal is. Now that I have seen the pictures, I understand what they mean. I think the beauty lies in its natural environment, cool fresh air and of course the proximity to so many old and sacred temples in Nepal! I have only been to Nepal once, on the pilgrimage with Rinpoche, and I hope to be able to do so again, and this time to see the ladrang as well. That would be so cool!

Such a beautiful place and the views are magnificent. Finally get to see the place after reading about it in Paris’s book. I would really like to visit Nepal on a pilgrimage soon. Hopefully by end of this year. My wish for Rinpoche is to have many ladrangs in many places. This will benefit all the people around.

This place is looks great may I have the great fortune to visit it one day. I loved Nepal the food was just fabulous and the weather is great. And one feels just very energetic all the time in Kathmandu, spiritual energy ?

I love watching this video about Dharma work that was recorded by Rinpoche a few years ago. I have watched it a few times already and constantly go back to this blog post to watch it again every now and then… it helps me a lot to keep my motivation for Dharma in place. Perhaps it’s time for you to listen to this Dharma talk again! Here’s the link =) http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/me/dharma-work-attitude-tdl.html

Went out with a group of my writers tonight. We had gone to Petaling Street to purchase a lot of offering items for Manjushri…afterwards…. Had a nice meal at a restaurant specializing in China’s Dongbey province. The place is simple and not pricy but the food is mouth watering and superb. The 8 of us gulped down the food and boy was it satisfying. You can’t imagine. Then we adjourned to Delicious to have some coffee/tea/lychee tea and cakes and lively conversation and pick games. Had a good time spending time with wonderful people some of which I have known for years. Now doing sadhana and sleep soon. Tsem Rinpoche

For Ashlee – Dear Ashlee, I am happy to hear about your wish to help the animals. Each day of us not eating meat for the duration of our lifetime will accumulate into hundreds if not thousands of lives saved. I do need a lot of help with KAS and thank you very much for helping. When i first came to kechara, Alex was the first few people who shared his knowledge with me and I appreciate you both very much. With the blessings of Rinpoche, let us continue our journey together to manifest a safe haven for the animals as well as play an influential role to instill a caring nature in our community.

Being one of the closer student around Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, i do experience a lot of miracles, from someone who are very sick got heal or rain stop at certain moment that is urgent, some may think it’s all coincidence, let me tell you a real truth story that happened an hour ago. H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, like to rescue animals such as fishes, dogs, birds and etc. In our new Kechara Forest Retreat land, Rinpoche have kindly requested one of the liaison Beng Kooi to build a fish pond for all the fishes that Rinpoche rescued. The contractors that we got in to build the fish pond was slow and delay a few deadline that they gave. Just 2 days ago, Rinpoche instructed the fish pond project to be call off and all workers should leave the fish pond site as soon as possible. While we still thinking why Rinpoche cancel this project as it’s one of Rinpoche wishes to build a very comfortable place for fishes. Something happened an hour ago, there was a big bang came from the fish pond site, the whole artificial waterfall wall collapse without people go near it. This artificial waterfall wall was made out of cement, wire mesh, metal bar and etc, it weigh easily 200-300 Kgs. Luckily Rinpoche have giving us warming do not go near this waterfall 2 days ago, and should stop all construction wall, just imagine the workers are still working when the waterfall fall, some people might died or serious injury now. Due to humility Rinpoche will not say a word or show his premonitions power, this happened many many times. Rinpoche just save a few life without them knowing it. A lot of people will think why such horrible thing can happened in a holy land like Kechara Forest Retreat, a Buddhist site should always safe from all accident, but we believe if a place that will be use to benefiting thousands, a lot of obstacles will appear, I will take this artificial waterfall accident as part of clearing our negative karma, may all the negative karma from all of us be cleared. It’s glad that this happened before we move any fishes into this pond. In Tibetan culture, it’s an auspicious omen which represent bad obstacles have been cleared, and all our project will grow very smoothly later. It’s very important we follow our lama’s instruction/advice, even though sometime we might not understand it truly, because a real lama will never do anything which is not beneficial.

For tsemtulku – My dear Rinpoche,Alex & I met you 10 years ago. Because of your precious Dharma teachings & guidance, we are able to transform ourselves. Because of your Dharma vision, we now have 14 Departments for people with different skills & interest to be involve and for us to create merits in virtuous activities. I have been a part time vegetarian for sometime. Somehow i just wasn’t able to be a full vegetarian. After watching your teaching on “Integrity, Keeping promises & Vows”, it finally hit me. It is so true that having vows are not meant to “Imprison” us but really to help us transform positively to kick away our negative habits. I realize that from young, we have been condition to think that we have to eat meat and meat is delicious and it is part of life to consume meat in our daily diet. Hence we ignore the sufferings of others in order to indulge in our own taste buds. Lately, i have develop myself into feeding strays nearby my neighbourhood and I’m compelled to help strays via Kechara Animal Sanctuary. After deep contemplation, i realize that i cannot be wanting to help KAS and yet still eating meat. The equation is just so wrong. Now i can see clearly, it makes it so much easier to be a full vegetarian. Taking the vegetarian vow is not an imprisonment but it is another level of commitment to not be the source of pain to other sentient beings. It is a choice that we make to kick away our preconception of consuming meat for a balance diet.If one is against animal cruelty, then one should practice vegetarianism. Can’t be pitching for animal rights when you are still eating them. My daughter once said to me, “Mommy, animals are our friends so we shouldn’t be eating them”. I find that so profound coming from a kid. I’m very sure my family members will not be supportive of me going vegetarian but I pray that one day they will also come to the same realization as i have.
I humbly offer to Rinpoche my vegetarian vow and may it be dedicated to Rinpoche’s long life. May it also be dedicated to my family, loved ones and friends.
I will continue to get involve in KAS activities to assist Pastor Susan.
    Thank you my dear Lama.

Most amusing is this unparalleled ingenuity of the highly inspired dramatic slogan (self-explanatory) in the cover picture of http://www.facebook.com/MBFSG?fref=ts which HHDL and all Buddhas of the past, Buddhas of the present and Buddhas yet tocome, correspondingly are bowing their heads in deferential obeisance. Are we now transported to the Age of Somnambulism??? To earthlings, the most crucial life sustaining factor is NO AIR, NO LIFE, in so far as planet Earth and basic common sense are concerned.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

We should have compassion for butchers. When we stop eating meat, we don’t make create the causes for them to slaughter animals contributing to their killing karma. Kechara Liaisons are leaders who head and run our 13 depts within Kechara. Liaison Paul heads the arts, statue making, florist and Gompa depts. Yes he has huge portfolios. And he does a good job! Paul took a group of people to Kechara Forest Retreat today with Pastor Yek Yee to introduce to them about our projects. Paul tirelessly/kindly talks to many people this way. It's people like Paul who contributes to Kechara reaching out to many and benefitting them. When we do dharma and not see it as work, it's never a burden. We should see it as a way for ourselves to grow and creating the space for others to grow also. Kind people like Paul inspire me. Thank you Paul. Tsem Rinpoche

17 May 2013, heavy rain at Kechara Forest Retreat from 7am-8am (1 hour). Water overflowed the existing drain and also opened up a much wider new "route" for itself.

SP's mom said that she is from Penang. This is her first trip to bodhgaya, and she truly finds bodhgaya is very holy and spiritual.

Very touching video...Buddha said it was very important to visit the four holy places associated with Him before our deaths. Remembering this, I had instructed Paul to take this senior group to Bodhgaya and make sure they are able to plant imprints. When this life of 'fun', money, parties and socials are over, we cannot leave empty handed. Tsem Rinpoche

Aki is the old African Grey that was abandoned by his owner. Because he is old, no one wanted him. Well we wanted him and we took him and in and love him. He is in a big aviary and he likes his cage. We leave his cage open at all times so he can go in and out as he likes. His cage is his security blanket. Cute. He gets nice food and sunshine daily and also we play monks chanting for him to be blessed. We love you Aki. Tsem Rinpoche

This little birdie was at a pet shop. He has maimed leg, permanent damage to his wing and cannot fly and also one eye blind. I don't think anyone would want the poor thing, so I adopted him and keep him safe, fed and with lots of fresh air. He's also in a large aviary so he can be with other birds and not be alone. He is alert, active, and has a good appetite. I like him very much and will make sure he is safe, happy and has a good life. I name him Lucky. Lucky will always be safe now. Tsem Rinpoche

Dear all, This is Paris interviewing my sister Lidshma. She mentions when I was very young the monks would have me sit with them to do the Buddhist services which was highly irregular in New Jersey. They didn't have lay people even children sit with them to do the services. So she mentions this was very unusual in a good way. My sister Lidshma here mentions my mother (Dana) would always catch me in the night in my room in the dark sitting on my bed meditating and doing mantras. I did that always and had to avoid being caught by my mother. I did it nightly. So I did it secretly and without her catching me. If she did catch me, then there would be big drama and problems depending on the mood my mom was in. My practicing dharma/meditating/praying/mantras was not allowed at all by my parents. They were fiercely against it always. My sister remembers this here. My sister lives in Texas, USA. And our bio group had gone to USA to interview my family for my bio book. This is a snippet. Make offering of monk robes on Wesak day is extremely auspicious as today is the day where Lord Buddha gain enlightenment and thus the teaching of liberation from suffering exist.
