Baby Oser Joins Tsem Ladrang
I have been considering getting a companion for my beloved Mumu boy for a while now… He deserves a friend. But having to train a new dog would be quite alot of work. So I have so many things to do already. Anyway, I kept looking into Mumu’s eyes and decided that I want him to have a friend. I felt sorry for him and had to get him a friend.
So today, Thursday April 22, 2010, we adopted back little Schnauzer baby Oser (clear light) back to the Ladrang.
She was born February 28,2010. So she is nearly 2 months old. She is playful and gentle, but had a tiring day as it is her first day home. We bought new toys, food, blankets, towels, sleeping home, doggie shirts, cushions, vitamins for her. As I blog this, she is happily sleeping away deeply in my room.
My Mumu is very interested in her and sniffs her gently. He doesn’t jump on her or bully her in anyway. Mumu is very very gentle with her. I am so happy. My mumu is such a good boy.
Please see these pics taken just a few hours ago… see below…
PA Bengkooi already had a session just now with Sengpiow, KB and Monlam on the do’s and don’ts for baby Oser and the training… We are going to give her alot alot alot alot of love and care!!
Ladrang’s kb and baby Oser at the Pet Shop ready to come home… Baby Oser looks like a little Eskimo baby… hehehehe… Kb really loves dogs and takes good care of them… Thank you kb to help me raise little Oser… thank you! Oser is not here for our entertainment, but to have a long and happy life.
Little Baby Oser girl just arrived at Tsem Ladrang and I am holding her… today… so small and cute…
Baby Oser sleeping deeply in her new cosy bed…
She’s so relaxed and warm with her new little shirt…
I just have to stroke her and pat her gently to reassure her… but she is fine… she doesn’t make any noise while sleeping…
Welcome to our home little Oser… we will love you! We love you..

Baby Girl Oser is really not a stuffed cute toy although she looks like one… she is doing well in the Ladrang and very playful with Mumu.
My very good boy Mumu with his new friend Oser. They sure play alot together. Size really doesn’t matter. Oser chases and chases Mumu who is like 60% bigger than her… very cute. Mumu is very gentle with her and never knocks her or makes contact with they play. Mumu senses she is small and not as strong. Mumu is really a kind hearted being.
More pictures of Oser taken today Wednesday April 28, 2010 by Sp… see below.

That is the most gorgeous little toy I have ever seen….I started to cuddle my laptop at some point. I really need to get a little fello like that…….
She was soo small when she came home with Rinpoche to big ole Ladrang. Time for training, as any new puppy undergoes. But we’re not just talking training for animals, but for humans too. Rinpoche has a great way of teaching people to care for others. This usually involves a life of some sort, puppies, fishes and birds are good choices.
Over the years Rinpoches students have learnt what it means to pay attention to the health and well being of others through caring for animals. Animals because no matter what you do for them, there is never a thank you or anything, they just take take take. I’m glad Oser came home to Ladrang. Look how much she has grown here…

Having pets around the house is a wonderful therapy. They keep you company. Lift your spirits when you feel down. Makes you wanna tear your hair out with their little tricks and sometimes stubborn demeanour. There’s a saying that goes : Caring for a pet is just like bringing up a child; the only difference is that it does not answer back. And you get unconditional love and companionship. But along the way, you learn to care for another being. To give your time, your love, attention – all these are giving in itself. We learn not to be selfish for another being’s life/existence is in our hands.
Oser baby is so adorable. She is fortunate to be picked up and be brought to Tsem Ladrang to be cared for by Rinpoche. One of the many fortunate creatures including me to be closely connected to Rinpoche. Like Yogi mumu, Rinpoche said he must have been one of his students that did not make it but have the good karma to be with Rinpoche again. I am sure like Yogi, Oser baby will be trained and blessed by Rinpoche to gain a good rebirth to meet with Dharma and practise it to achieve enlightenment. By caring and bringing them up will also create causes for Kechara Animal Sanctuary to arise whereby there will be more creatures that can be benefited.
Mumu boy really is so gentle when he plays with Baby Oser. It’s heart warming to watch…He really acts like a big brother, playing with Oser and letter Oser get her way. Baby Oser is super adorable and the ladrang staff is doing a fantastic job in training her up. She already understands many commands in such a short period of time.
Rinpoche taught us to recite mantras and blow lightly on our pets to bless them. Recite any of these mantras will benefit them very much:
Medicine Buddha – Tayatha Om Bekanzey Bekanzey Maha Bekanzey Bekanzey Ranza Samoogatey Soha
Manjushri – Om Ah Ra Ba Tsa Na Dhi
Tara – Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha
Justin says that she has grown up a lot since…..I beg to differ!!! She’s still so tiny and all that feisty energy within her has just snowballed!! She is such a lovely companion for Mumu (Yogi), I really do think that they compliment each other very well
Yogi’s so docile, calm and …a bit of a scaredy-cat, whereas Baby Oser is hyperactive and according to Rinpoche,’if she was in a jungle, she would survive!’. She has a heart of a lion, but complimented with the looks of a teddy bear!
Um, don’t judge a book by it’s cover?
Terima Kasih Rinpoche!
How fortunate is Baby Oser compared to so many many animals out there who are lost, downtrodden, ill and some tortured in a living hell on earth …
Here’s an excerpt from ‘Taking Refuge’ by Pabongka Rinpoche
“However, all Three Jewels are needed to protect one completely from samsara and the lower realms. To cure a patient of a severe illness, three things are needed: a doctor, medicine, and nurses. Similarly, in order to be freed from the serious illnesses of the sufferings of samsara and the lower realms, the danger of the peace [of Hinayana Arhats], or [samsaric] existence, one definitely needs all these: the Buddha, the teacher of the liberating path, who is like the doctor; the Dharma, the liberating path of the three scopes, which is like the medicine; and the Sangha, the friends of the Dharma practitioners, who are like the nurses. So, these three are things to take refuge in.”

May KAS manifest soon for the benefit and welfare of all sentient beings! Sadhu!
As I submit this post now, darling Oser is now a big baby girl. She has many people in the Ladrang who adores her. She’s simply irresistable for many reasons. One of it is that she’s cute and playful.
Having said that, with any new doggie, we need to train her and the personal attendants to HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche are doing a wonderful job with her training to behave and not to pee and poo everywhere. Monlam, Joy and SP stay by her side all the time to ensure that she’s safe and attended to. They play, feed and cuddle her with love and care so that she may grow up to be a beautiful girl.
Kudos to everyone upstairs in Buddha’s apartment for taking goood care of her.
cheers
JJ
Cute little guy.. Must be lucky..
