Canary Adopted
I went yesterday to a Pet store nearby to find fish for Kechara Saraswati Dept or KSA,and saw this cute, spunky, lively, adorable Canary. Reminded me of Tweety bird. But he was in a tiny cage and my heart went out to him. I didn’t want him stuck in a tiny cage for the rest of his life.
I decided to adopt him and put him in our ladrang outdoor aviary. When we brought him back, we put him in a smaller temporary cage to feed him and leave him on my 2nd story balcony (no sylvester or rather cats) to acclimatize and he dived into the fresh food and ate to his heart’s content. Good sign. It means he’s not very stressed and not scared of people. He wil be in a large aviary with other small birds that will not harm him with plenty of air, sunshine, water, rain, fresh seeds daily, and alot of flying space. I am very happy for him.
When we came to him this morning, he was hopping, moving and ruffling his feathers…it seemed like he is happy to see us. He exhibits no fear of humans which is wonderful. I love the little fellow already. It breaks my heart to see him. We will take very good care of him……….he and the other animals we have are not for our amusement, but here to have a good life on their terms.
Picture taken of him yesterday when he arrived at Tsem Ladrang. Isn’t he beautiful and photogenic??
In his temporary cage with toys!
Diving into his food. The minute he arrived, we put food and he ate, and ate and ate….good!!!!
May I be able to help many animals from harm and sufferings. May I create awareness so people do not harm animals in any way, shape or form. OM TAREE TUTAREE TUREE SOHA!
By taking care of animals well, may a Kechara Animal Sanctuary arise!

Dear Rinpoche, Thank you for adopting the bird. The bird is very cute.
Pretty fishes in beautiful aquarium with abundant oxygen for them to be healthy! Still plenty of room for smaller fishes.
How nice. He looks very interested in his new live.

Did you gave him a name? It is really good sign that he’s eating well and not afraid of humans, he seems in good health
When do you plan to put him in the aviary?

Another cute “monster” to join the big aviary family
CUTE!!!!!!!!!!
How fortunate for one lovely sentient creature to go to such a comfortable, safe new home. May he have a long, happy life. May we all show compassion for our fellow travellers on the Way.
Such a beautiful happy little bird. I had a bird who used to do somersault when he was happy. His name was Happy and he also made everyone happy
To a small Canary bird the Aviary in Rinpoche’s Ladrang is big. Rinpoche has a large Aviary space in his garden. He also has parrots which is much bigger. Rinpoche has no biaseness in what type of animals or birds he adopt. All the same if he feels the birds or animals needs something more comfortable he will adopt them. He went to a pet shop with intention to buy fishes for his aquarium. He spotted a Canary that was caged in a small cage. Rinpoche felt pity for the bird and adopted it. Then before he put the Canary into the aviary Rinpoche tested him to see whether he can be alright with the other birds in the aviary. The test was successful and now the Canary is very happy flying around the Aviary.
